this is a story about me watching my friend Billy the Kid get sick from an unknown sickness. I am unable to cure him. will I find a cure for him in time or will he die right before my eyes?
I had woke up to get started with my charos that I had to do that day. I went to Billy's room to check on him and make sure that he was alright. But he wasn't in his room. I got very worried about him. Because he had a very bad heart condition.
I asked Chavez if he had seen Billy this morning. Chavez said that he hadn't seen Billy all morning and that Billy hadn't been home all night.
I got very very worried about Billy. I knew that his heart could give out on him at anytime and he needed his heart medicine.
I know how stubborn Billy is and that he doesn't take his heart medicine. And now Billy doesn't eat anything at all.
I had to find Billy and I had to find him fast before his heart gave out on him. Chavez and I set out looking for Billy.
We looked everywhere and we couldn't find Billy anywhere. Chavez and I walked into the woods.
It was getting colder and colder and it was starting to snow. Plus it was getting dark. I was worried that we wouldn't find Billy.
Then I heard a wolf howling. Another wolf wanted us to follow him. We followed the wolf and we saw Billy laying under a tree.
We got Billy back home and into his bed. His fever was very high. And his heart did give out on him just like I was scared that it would.
The wolves stayed by Billy's bedside while Chavez and I worked to bring his fever down.
I was out of the medicines that I needed to help Billy and Chavez was doing his best to help Billy with his mother's Navajo medicines.
I didn't know if this would work. But I gave it a try. I wrote a note asking for medicine and medical supplies. And I attached a coller around Balto's neck with the note asking for medicine and medical supplies and sent Balto out to get them.
We waited and prayed that Balto would get back with the medicine and medical supplies. We didn't have to wait very long. Balto came back with the medicine and medical supplies that I needed.
Billy's fever had broke and his heart was beating normal again.
