It truly means a lot to me. 😊

April 23rd, 2006, In Korea Somewhere Near The Empty Outskirts...

"RUN! GO! I'LL HOLD THEM OFF! RUN, KEEP THEM SAFE WE CAN'T LOSE THEM!" A man with short black hair yelled worry, concern, and fear layered in his voice with care seeping through it.

The man stood on an open field beside a forest no one had ever dared to step into in the middle of the night with a torn gray jacket and black pajamas. He had a gunshot wound through his right leg, causing him to stagger as he ran but then came to a stop as he yelled what he yelled. In front of him, a woman carrying two babies in her arms ran panting. Her dark brown hair was messed up and tied behind her head with a few strands covering her face.

"NO! COME WITH US!" The woman stopped immediately turning around to see the man's face, his brown eyes sharp nose and beautiful red lips. Would this be the last time she would ever be able to see him after everything that they went through after everything they promised to each other? She ran back to him.

"I can't please just go. We just lost our best friends, and we promised them we would look after their child. Keep him safe. And him too... Our child..." The man whispered slowly, coursing his hands through the two babies covered blankets one patterned in music scales and the other a tiger's skin.

"Keep Soonyoung and Jihoon safe. We have no one else. Please... I'll come back..." The man continued tears threatening to fall out of his eyes as he kissed the woman's forehead and then her lips cupping her cheeks.

"I love you." The woman said in between the kiss. She knew he wouldn't come back. She knew that the ones they were running away from wouldn't spare him. She knew that this was the only way it would end there was no other. But it hurt her, and the fear only grew as the sound of gunshots came closer to them.

"I love you more!" The man smiled, breaking the kiss slowly.

"Stop, this isn't the time to joke... Please come with us!" She pleaded tears staining her cheeks as he let his hand travel to her waist, pulling her and the babies into a warm embrace.

"Soonyoung, grow up strong and protect your mother and Jihoon. Jihoon, grow up and protect your mother's friend and Soonyoung. I'm sorry we weren't able to save them. I'm sorry for being such a terrible friend to them. I'm sorry your mother's friend and Soonyoung will protect you from now on, you'll be safe. I'm sorry." The tears the man held in fell trickling down his cheeks, leaving damp spots on the two peacefully sleeping babies' blankets.

"KWON JONGSOO! WHERE ARE YOU? COME BACK! WE'RE NOT DONE PLAYING YET!" A menacing voice with the sound of gunshots enveloped the dark field as footsteps got closer by the second.

Panic painted the couple's faces as they stared in the direction the sound came from. Ripping away from each other immediately the woman looked into the eyes of her lover for the last time as the three words she could say forever to his face slipped out for the last time he could hear them. "I love you!"

The man felt no different from her as he said his last words to her. "I love you!"

"KWON JONGSOO!" The menacing voice yelled again.

With no words exchanged, the couple understood each other. The woman turned around with no intention of looking back because she knew that she wouldn't be able to leave him if she did. She ran faster than she ever had into the forest behind them with not a care in the world. The two children were her priority she needed to keep them safe no matter how many wounds she collected by running through the forest at night. No matter how sacred she was, she needed to be brave for the children and keep them safe.
