It was an awards ceremony.

From where all the nobles stood up, Dylan politely guided Eleane through the sit besides his throne. Charlize's seat was as high as the emperor's. It's a little far from the podium, a place where you can be free.

Charlize followed Dylan. Dylan still fixed his eyes only on Charlize.

"Your Majesty."

"Grandmaster."

Everyone bowed their heads.

The eyes of many nobles poured on Charlize. Charlize didn't care because attention is natural anyway.

"Count Leight, come forward and receive your plaque."

The awards ceremony was held on its
own. Leight's face brightened at the Chancellor's call. He was awarded a plaque for the fact that he paid his taxes faithfully.

"It was my loyalty to His Majesty. I will continue to dedicate myself with all my heart."

Dylan only showed interest in Charlize, whether mentioned or not in his acceptance speech. Since then, those who followed the emperor's closest aides have mostly received awards.  They were honored, pledging eternal allegiance to Dylan.

"Young duke of Delmon, come forward and receive your plaque."

When Kahu was called, there was silence for a moment as if a mouse had died. Kahu came forward with a bit of a firm bite on his lips.

But to his suprise, Eleane herself give the award to him. Seeing her proud smile Kahu couldn't help but curled up lips too. Her radiant gaze almost made him forget to take the award.

Eleane took this opportunity to kiss the corner of his lips."That's my lovely fiancé." She whisper. Gasp and mumur voice could be heard around nobel.

Charlize raised her eyebrows. Dylan clench his arm rest.

To announce their engagement so sudden shocked the people who witnessed. Bold move, but some of them admire her brave stand.

Many thought Kahu will be alone forever after the news the emperor court the grandmaster. Who would've thought the loyal affectionate gentleman would settle with the emperor cousin instead.

Some were doubting about their relationship, some were jealous. Eleane were quite popular among nobleman and to get closer is nearly impossible because Dylan always by her side.

The men swoon by her loving smile for the first time. Since it's rare to see Eleane ever show expressions when it comes to strangers.

When Kahu was about to say something, he look behind her head. It was Dylan fuming with dark eerie eyes shooting glare at him.

Kahu's fingertips trembled slightly as he stepped down after receiving the award. He want to be safe before marrying Eleane, after that maybe he can feel the power fighting back at Dylan. He hope so...

Kahu has a plaque on his hand. It was Kahu who received the award for making a big contribution on the day of the ceremony.

In fact, all the nobles who participated in the awards ceremony knew.  'To receive an award' means to be a subordinate after all.  Charlize had to reign above all.

So Charlize ended up being irrelevant, but it was taken for granted. Even though they were the same nobility, the world they lived in was different, and the realm was different.

"Grandmaster also has a brighter expression than before. You look good."

"Is that so?"

Charlize smiled openly.
