Floods. I had never witnessed one but I had seen it on the news, and boy, did I pray to never have to experience it. I had seen cars and buildings swallowed like they were some kind of sweet little candy. Jolting out of my daze as coach yelled my name, I quickly stood up from the bleachers. It was a sunny and tiring day of playing football and I was on my break as other players replaced my team. I had just sat down for what I'm sure wasn't up to five minutes when I heard my name.

"You done? I mean spacing out on your coach obviously".

"Uhhh.... Yes? I mean No!"

I ruffled my hair in frustration, I was so sure I was going to run ten laps and I was damn right and tired.

"I think you mind need to come back Clairie, ten laps it is" Coach blew her whistle and went back to the rest of the team.

Stupid Phillie was talking about some epic flood movie she watched and I just had to space out, then approach Miss Lonie, the toughest cookie in the whole world only to space out again. Goddamn it!

"Keep dragging your seventeen year old legs like that and you're gonna be doing extra ten!" I heard her yell.

Mis Lonie sure wanted to kill me, I was running as fast as I could, who did she think I was, Usian Bolt? Okay, maybe not as fast as I could but pretty fast, as fast as my two 'two-hours' football playing legs could carry me, last I checked, I wasn't a damn magician.

Sweat had accumulated on my forehead and I had just ran two fucking laps, way to go Clairie Sunshine. I tried moving my feet faster but I knew I was going to pass out if I did so and I wasn't ready to be the Mary Matthews, the weak one who chose to play football. Luckily for me, she got caught up in football that she forgot about me, and did I jug the last three miles?

Sitting down, I heard a heavy rumble in the sky, like a thunderstorm was approaching as darkness suddenly began to take over at an alarming rate.

"Alright y'all, pack up! We're done for the day!"

I couldn't be happier as Miss Lonnie looked frustrated, this incoming rain had ruined her practice session with her players. I generally didn't care, my whole body was aching and my legs... Well, they were beginning to feel numb.
I hurriedly packed up and started going home, not bothering to cramp into the locker room. My house was a fifteen minutes walk from school anyway.

#############################
I pushed the door open to meet a disaster. Clothes were scattered all around, make up kits littered the floor, was that water or juice spilled all over? Cheetos and popcorn completed the 'mad' touch. Yup, my house definitely looked like a 'Mad house'. I looked up to see my three years old sister staring at me, after what seemed like forever, she ran off. Was she alone? Did she create all these mess? Yes, she could messy but this was on another level. Just then I rescanned the room and wait! Were those my clothes and make up? Before I had time to fully understand, I heard a voice, the voice.

"You're home, welcome".

I looked up to see who I never thought I'd see, not even in the afterlife, my worst enemy.
