Hayat's pov

I woke up, my eyes still felt a little heavy but I tried opening my eyes as I felt sunrays falling on my face directly. I was expecting Murat or Ipek to be opening the window curtains to wake me up from my slumber. But I found a girl near the window. Nor was she Asli who helped Ipek bring me here, then who was it - I was reeling on the question.

“Oh.. You’re awake!” a female voice startled me, and I turned my gaze towards her face.

“I’ve seen you somewhere?” I asked her trying to recollect her face. Her face. She wasn't familiar, but I definitely saw her somewhere I thought.

“Oh well.. Rather let me fill in the blanks for you.. Myself Didem and you met me at the rescue camp after that cyclone!” she said.

And I pass her a weak smile as I now recollected she was th one talking to Murat, rather proposing him at the campsite.

She gave me a nod, as she placed few medicines on the side table & walked away silently towards the window gazing outside.

I asked her where Murat was and she didn’t answer. I called out for Ipek whom I knew had to be in the hospital and was met with silence.

Upon receiving deafening silence for all my screams, I took few calming breathes and asked her again calmly, “Please Didem, tell me where’s Murat?”

She turned to look at me slightly angry this time, “I don’t know.. I just don’t know where he is.. He’s gone since yesterday morning and we couldn't get back to him, not me not Doruk or even Kerem.”

And it suddenly dawned upon me that something happened during the time I laid unconscious due to sedatives.

“Whattt.. He isn’t around since yesterday! What are you talking?” I asked her again.

“Yes.. He’s gone.. May be he found out something about your baby and he’s gone to get it! And I absolutely hate the idea!” she replied frustrated.

"Where's my friend Ipek?" I asked her again.

"I don't know about your f-ing friend I'm just worried about Murat!" She screamed and stormed out of the room.

I immediately got out of the bed and walked out to follow her, but she was nowhere to be found. As I reach the reception area, I ask to make a call and called Ipek followed by Murat whose number was left as my emergency contact.

All my calls were going to the voicemail. I didn’t understand what was going on. There was another number of some landline, probably of Asli who was with Ipek the other night I thought and dialled the number. After multiple rings, someone picked the call, and I could hear some tensed conversations.

“Where’s Murat?” an elderly panicked voice was heard.

MURAT my heart stopped beating for a second.

“Dadijaan.. Please calm down! Your blood pressure is shooting up!” A girl said.

“I don’t care about my health Asli, I want my kids.. Where’s Doruk? Where’s Murat? Call Murat immediately.. Ask him to come back to me now!” Dadi replied in distress.

“Dadijaan.. Dadijaan.. calm down.. Murat has gone on some important work, he isn’t alone rather Kerem went along with him!” Asli replied.

“Don’t try to fool me Asli.. I heard your conversation with Doruk on the phone, and I heard that Murat is in some danger and they can’t find him!” Azime spoke before falling unconscious.

“Azime Dadi.. Dadijaan! Wake up! No! No!” a girl's panicked voice was heard before the call went dead.

“Murat is in danger.. Doruk Kerem aren’t home, Dadijaan is unconscious.. I’ve to reach Sarsilmaz house now!” I thought in myself as I staggered out of the reception towards the exit.

As I tried stopping a taxi and was telling the driver the address to reach Murat’s home.. I saw a man dragging away a subconscious Ipek followed by Emre at a short distance towards the parking lot. I get into an unlocked SUV next to me hastily to hide myself. Now I could only see Ipek with the man, her hands were tied back, a mask around her mouth. I couldn’t find Emre, and I sighed and tried to get out of the car, but realized it was Emre’s car I got into as I hear his voice on the Bluetooth speaker.

"Yes.. we've got her and are on the way!" He talked on the call.

My heart dropped to my stomach, but before I could react, the car started moving. I see that a wagon was following us probably the man was bringing Ipek in it. So, I sat there quietly without making much noise.

Around two hours might be, Emre’s car stopped at some deserted area near the woods, I have to save Ipek so I decide to escape carefully. As I got down from the car after Emre left inside the house, I see the man got out of the wagon with Ipek along. I hide behind a wall and watch them closely.

After a while, I see Emre leaving the place with some short lady who was covering her face with a scarf and shades. I walk silently towards the back door of the house, and find the window sill that was half opened and decide to sneak inside the house through it. As I enter, I find a hallway with two rooms each on either side, all rooms were locked except one room, the door wasn't locked, it was dimly lit by a small lamp at one of the corners.

As I slowly opened the door and entered inside, I found an unconscious Ipek, forehead bruised and slightly bleeding, bowed down, tied to a wooden chair with her hands back. I run towards her and tried to wake her up by patting on her cheek but she doesn’t wake up. I look around to find a water jug on the table and in an attempt to fetch water, I hit against a vase on the table in haste, though I stop it from falling and breaking.. it made a slight noise. I quickly stomped towards Ipek but I was attacked by someone from the behind and everything turned dark, as my face was covered with some cloth that held a pungent smell.

After few hours may be, I tried to open my eyes when I heard rain pouring heavily against the window. I started registering the surroundings slowly and my memory came back to me and it hit me hard that why I was there at the first place and I look around for Ipek. It was not the same room, this room was much clumsy filled with wooden clutter scattered here and there. I try to move and realize my hands, legs were tied firmly to the oak chair I was sitting.

I look at the walls where few photo frames were hung at a distance. There was a huge picture of a family in the middle of the wall surrounded by pictures of little kids and pets around it. As I looked at the pictures, my eyes stopped at a certain picture of a kid on a swing and got shocked as there was a striking resemblance of the little kid in the picture with Murat (But again I feel why would Murat’s picture be here). I take a look at the adjacent picture where the kid was held by a woman who was probably his mother I thought. Then I look at another picture and find a woman holding a baby girl in her lap. And I get amused realizing that both the women looked similar like they were sisters. There were few more pictures of men playing golf, smoking, fishing, kids riding horses, painting, etc.

I started to feel thirsty and tried to look for water around the room. But instead I find something else.
There laid another portrait of the two women on the shelf nearer to me, as I look keenly at it I find one face so familiar and it came dawning upon me that one of the women was Leyla Sarsilmaz, Murat’s mother. My eyes snapped towards the kid’s picture on the swing I saw earlier and realized it was Murat himself. I look at the men’s pictures and find Murat’s father Mr. Nejat Sarsilmaz as well in the pictures. I wonder who was the other woman. Why is this place filled with younger Murat and his parents pictures I think in myself.

As I turned my head to the other side, I find Ipek now on the floor at one of the corners in the same room. I tried to call out to her but she didn’t move. I couldn’t understand why we were kidnapped by Emre and kept in this place, it had to be Murat’s childhood home probably. I stormed my brain to connect the dots why Ipek was brought here in the first place, but failed terribly. I always thought Emre was behind me to seek revenge on Murat. But I guess I was not right, Emre had something big behind his mad meaning-less revenge on Murat.
