Why would Tetrax agree to this, is he stupid?

Of all the jobs he could've agreed to, he picked the one that would guarantee his death, wonderful. Tetrax was positively overjoyed. He glared at the screen in front of him as his ship arrived at the destination.

Or at least, as much of a destination as it could be.

How was he supposed to steal from a Celestialsapien?

Tetrax shook his head. On the bright side this one was a loner. On the downside this one was known for wreaking havoc for the smallest of reasons. Tetrax was doomed.

He stepped away from the controls and looked around where the screen showed him. To any passerby it looked like any old empty galaxy, waiting to be wandered through. But upon closer inspection you notice that the galaxy almost seems jelly-like, as if it was some kind of portal to another world. Tetrax put on his helmet, and walked to an exit of the ship.

Once he approached a small, emergency exit he took a moment to acknowledge that this might be the last time he boarded his ship, and reconsidered doing this at all. Memories flashed in his mind, and he realized that it didn't matter if he lived or died, no one would really notice. He took a deep breath, then opened the exit, jumping out aggressively as the vacuum of space pulled him in.

The door shut automatically behind him, and he spun around a bit before adjusting his boots, allowing himself to have control over his movements. He slowly approached the fake "galaxy" and paused right in front of it. He analyzed it for a moment, and slowly inserted a hand. A visible ripple flowed through where his hand was, as if it was water.

It also felt wet and Tetrax immediately wanted to pull away. He ripped his hand out and inspected it, noticing that his hand was completely dry. His eyes furrowed as he stared at it, before taking a deep breath, looking straight into the void, and going in.

It felt like a splash of water when he went inside, a really cold splash of water, but when he emerged from the other side he felt as dry as before. Tetrax shivered, which freaked him out a bit considering his species doesn't get cold easily, and he looked around. The galaxy-like look to the place no longer existed, now just an endless black void, various objects floating around. Tetrax himself didn't seem to have control over his movement anymore, floating aimlessly. He tried to move his legs, but he didn't go anywhere. He tried to ground himself by imagining he was on a platform, and suddenly he felt the ground right below him. Tetrax's eyes widened as he looked down, noticing he was now standing on a purple platform. He took a step forward, and more of the platform appeared, allowing him to walk around. Tetrax hummed, and began to walk.

It was quiet, as if no living being had been around for years. He glanced around the area, looking for the item he was told to steal. He felt as though multiple sets of eyes were watching him, and he constantly turned around in a paranoid manner, but saw no one. Tetrax had to constantly calm himself down, be reasonable with himself. Technically, the man he was stealing from wasn't a Celestialsapien, he just kinda looks like one. He might just be an alien with strong abilities, is all. He might not even be real, the only image ever shown of him was a blurry photo of a black and purple figure, so he's more like what humans would call a "cryptid."
