Your P.O.V

I wake up to the sun shining in through the large windows of the castle. I grumble and roll out of bed to find it's ten o'clock in the morning.

I quickly get dressed as my stomach growls. I pack my clothes into my bag and walk out of my room to knock on Mystogan's door.

"Mystogan, we need to get on the road. We still have a six hour walk back to Magnolia," I say, knocking again.

"Mystogan?"

I put my hand on the doorknob and turn it, peering into the room. "Mystogan?" I scan the bedroom to find him still sleeping with the bed sheets scattered everywhere.

I slowly walk around to the left side of the bed and look down at his sleeping face. He looks so peaceful and.....cute. I'd hate to wake him up, but we need to get going.

I put my hand on his bare, muscular shoulder and gently shake him. "Mystogan, wake up," I repeat over and over until I hear a low grunting sound.

"Okay, okay. I'm up," he mutters in a rough and sexy morning voice while sitting up. I examine his messy blue hair and let a laugh escape my lips.

"What?" he asks.

"Your hair is such a mess," I comment, ruffling it. "Seriously though, get dressed so we can get back to Magnolia."

"Fine, whatever," he grumbles.

I walk out the door to see the maid from last night walking down the hall. She gives me a weary look and says, "Breakfast is downstairs."

"Can we get those to go, please? We need to hit the road," I say.

"Whatever gets you out of here faster," she harshly replies and walks away.

"Bitch," I mumble under my breath.

"Who?"

I squeak and turn around to see Mystogan in his regular clothes and mask standing behind me. "STOP DOING THAT!"

"Sorry, geez. Let's just go," he says, walking toward the stairs.

I walk beside him as we reach the castle doors with the maid standing there holding two paper bags. "Here are your breakfasts," she says, handing them to us.

"Thanks," we both say and walk out the door.

We've been walking for twenty minutes, quietly eating our breakfasts that consist of a large muffin, an apple, and a bottle of water.

"That was pretty good," Mystogan says while pulling his mask back up.

"Yeah, that muffin was amazing," I respond.

"One thing," he suddenly says.

"What?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.

"You can't tell anyone we're partners now. People might try to go after you and ask you questions about me."

"Okay, I understand."

"Ready?" he randomly questions.

"For wha-" Mystogan cuts me off by grabbing my hand and I see a flash of light in front of my face. I look ahead to see we're about a five minute walk from Magnolia.

"WHAT THE HELL?!" I exclaim then realize Mystogan and I are still holding hands and lightly yank mine away with a blush on my cheeks. "Y-You said you couldn't teleport that far."

"Well, I had just gotten back from a mission yesterday and I was still tired."

"At least we don't have to walk for six agonizingly long hours now." We start trudging through the high grass and into the city.

"I'll meet you in front of the guild in five minutes. I need to go to my apartment," I say, taking my share of the reward and turning in the direction of Fairy Hills.

I walk up to the guild doors and look around for Mystogan, hoping he didn't go in without me when he suddenly appears from the side of the building.

"Ready?" he asks.

"Wait. Why don't I just go get the request so you don't have to use your magic?"

"Okay, grab an SS-Class quest from the second floor above the S-Class ones," he directs, leaning against the building.

"On it," I reply, walking through the doors to the noisy guild.

"(Y/N)!" I hear Natsu yell as he tackles me with a hug. "When we got back, Master said you were on a special request and we were starting to get worried."

"No need. It was pretty easy and a lot fun," I assure him with a smile.

"Good. By the way, this is Wendy and Carla," he points to a blue haired little girl and a white cat.

"You're so cute. My names (Y/N)," I greet, shaking her tiny hand.

"It's very nice to meet you," she replies sheepishly.

I turn to Natsu. "Well, I have to get going on another job, so I'll see you later."

I start walking up the stairs to the second floor where all the higher class jobs are. I scan for the SS-Class request and tear off the only paper that's left. I walk down the stairs to the bar where I see Master sitting.

"Morning, Master," I say cheerfully.

"Good Morning, (Y/N)."

I turn to Mira and hold up the job request. "I'm taking this one Mira," I announce, about to turn around when she snatches the paper from my hand.

"I can't let you take this! This is an SS-Class job request!" she shouts and the whole guild goes silent with their wide eyes on me.

Shit. I can't tell them it's actually for Mystogan. "I-I uh..."

"It's alright Mira. She can take it," Master says, breaking the silence and a few gasps are heard from the guild members.

She hesitantly hands me the paper as I nod my head to Master and walk out the shocked filled room. I turn the corner to see Mystogan still leaning against the wall.

"What's the job?" he asks.

I look at the paper. "Kill the Beast that's been eating some villagers, in Oriville," I read aloud.

"That's pretty far. I think I'll be able to get us half way there."

I nod. "I haven't been there since I was a kid." I reveal, still looking at the paper. "My mom would always tear me away from training so we could watch the flowers bloom together." I look up to see Mystogan's eyes soften.

"Let's get going then," he says, grabbing my hand.

In a flash, we're walking through the mountains toward the village I remember to be about four hours away.

"Another long ass walk I see," I sigh dramatically.

"Looks that way," he replies.

We continue to walk through the tall mountains without realizing the horror we were about to encounter.
