It was hard to say just how long it had taken you to recover from your mission with Echo but at long last you were back out in the field. Well, you would be after Tech gave you the final go ahead. He had been throwing around his responsibility as Medic to a point of being authoritarian but had been told by Rex and Hunter that he needed to wrap up his 'side project'. Thus, Echo had just been cleared to return to duty after a final examination and you were on your way in.

You got up and stretched in preparation to have your final examination done. Your bruises had mostly cleared and you only had some faint fatigue and aching left. Not to mention if you stayed any longer you'd start getting super restless and just start messing around.

Wrecker, Fireball, Nemec, Gregor and Hunter were playing a game of cards in the galley. Omega was reading nearby trying to watch the game and complete her lesson at the same time. Rex was speaking with Echo and nodded to you in acknowledgement as you went past and stepped into the medical room. You were back in your blacks again, which made you miss wearing Wreckers giant spare shirt a little. Thankfully you had gotten to shower soon after you could stand and were feeling much more like yourself. There was still some resistance from your body when you pushed yourself too hard, but otherwise you were functional.

The medical room was well lit and Tech was standing in front of the table holding a large holopad that you hadn't seen before. Just past him, behind the table you noticed the now completed surgical machine that Tech had been helping with, aka doing it himself, during your recovery.

"Good morning Y/N" he greets you professionally but you are already smiling.

"Good morning doctor" you reply with a chuckle, walking up and lifting yourself onto the table.

You saw Tech reflexively reach out to help you in the corner of your eye, but he played it off as he put the large holo-pad down onto the side table. "Technically speaking I do not have the required official licensing to be a doctor" he commented and you nod still smiling up at him. At this point Tech smiled a little in response and started to ask you a few different questions.

"Bruising still clearing up?"

"Yep"

"I see you've been walking without any impairments"

"Absolutely"

He continued down a list of general questions before checking pupil dilation, listening to your lungs and checking your pulse. He kept everything very professional as he examined you, with one of his hands just grazing your thigh at one point.

You keep a close watch on his brown eyes as he conducts his examination, occasionally making eye contact which results in only a slight eyebrow raise. Tech makes some final notes into the huge holopad "Y/N you are officially cleared. I would recommend lighter field work, but you are at a point of optimal recovery to return to work".

"Thank goodness. I was starting to get bored" you sigh, and lean forward to slip off the table.

Tech stops you by placing a hand on your shoulder and you sit back, feeling anticipation tingle your senses.

"I didn't say you were dismissed" he comments in a sarcastic tone with a playful look appearing in his eyes. "While I have you here" Tech begins, "I wanted to speak to you about the other day".

"Which day?" you ask, pretty sure he was referring to the night he kissed you ... well ... more like made out. At least before Hunter came knocking on the bunk room door.

Tech gave you a strong stare with his brown eyes, and a slight smile curled the edges of his mouth "I have no doubts you are recalling the encounter at this moment"--he says leaning closer to you, with a hand on either side of your legs.
