Bill couldn't believe it. The beautiful girl from his bio class was in a bikini, in his vicinity, talking to his friends, and laying on a towel in front of him as the sun hit her beautiful skin so well. After the two girls jumped in, the rest reluctantly followed and now they were sunbathing. Well, the girls were at least. Bill was too busy staring at Stephanie while Richie and Eddie argued over something dumb. Stan and Ben were talking about some boring book shit, which had grabbed the attention of Beverly a couple times. But Stephanie was quiet. She was laying there in front of the star-struck boy with her beautiful blue eyes closed and her tongue sometimes swiping over her lips due to how dry it was today. "Bust a move" by Young MC playing quietly was causing Stephanie to move her head to the beat very slightly. But of course Bill noticed, since he could barely rip his eyes off him.

"Hey Bill, take a pic, it will last longer" Richie piped in, clearly showing the argument was done and Richie was bored. At that point, Beverly glanced over and noticed how hard Bill was staring at her best friend. She felt her heart flutter, knowing of the crush she had.

"S-shut up.." Bill mumbled, averting his gaze to his hands numbly sitting in his lap. After a few short seconds of silence, Stephanie opened her eyes and yawned, sitting up as she did so.

"Hey, Bev, I think my mom wants us back soon. You ready to leave?"He felt his heart sink as she said that, not ready to say bye to her. Since the two were not very close friends, there was little to no chance they'd see each other again until the upcoming school year.

"Uhh, yeah." Bev smiled at the blonde, getting up and evidently turning to the group of boys. "This was fun. You guys aren't as creepy as I thought.."

"Oh, just you wait" Richie retorted with a wink. This earned an eye roll from the two girls before they made their ways to their bikes. Before Stephanie mounted hers, she turned back to the Denbrough boy and gave him a small wave and a smile. Bill smiled back and waved, ignoring the heat that quickly rose to his face. Unfortunately, Beverly noticed it immediately and raised her eyebrows at him, sharing a message with her eyes.

You like her?

He dropped his head in embarrassment and went back to looking at his lap. Beverly snickered, and then they were gone.

As the girls rode back home, Stephanie couldn't shake the thought of Bill out of her head. She remained silent throughout the ride, staring at the road beneath her. She was dwelling upon how she most likely wouldn't see him until school started again, which brought a frown to her face. She wanted to see him, but didn't want to deliberately ask him to hang out with her. She decided to push these thoughts beside, as they were only confusing her and bringing her down.
