Chapter Fifteen

Velvet's POV
It was Saturday today, Eleanor and I were in the cafeteria, we were getting ready for the escape. "So, Velvet, how you feeling? You excited? I bet you're excited!" She said clasping her hands together. "Yeah, I guess,." I mumble a bit. "Velvet, you sound sad, what's up?" Eleanor asks, taking my hand in hers. "We are gonna get outta here!" She says smiling. "Yeah, but is this even a good idea? What if we get caught? Where will we go? What will Veneer think?" I ask starting to panic a bit. I quickly calm myself down by taking a deep breath. "Girl, you gotta calm down! Just trust me, you'll be safe as long as you stick with me." She said smiling.

I sigh before nodding. "Okay." I pull my hand away from hers. "Come on, we should get to the laundry mat before they close it." I say as I got up. "Yeah, good idea!" Eleanor says as she got up and followed me. We sneak into the laundry mat, once we were in we hid behind a pile of clothes. Eleanor grabbed some clothes and threw it over our heads, I pull my knees to my chest and laid my head onto them, I could hear the rain patter against the roof of the prison, though it was very faint.

We waited for about an hour until Eleanor started moving. "Come on, lets get going." She whispered whilst taking the cover off of us, she motions me to follow her to the door of the laundry mat. She crouched down onto the floor, she then took the lock pick kit out of her pocket and started working at the lock. After about two minutes we heard a small 'click'. She looks up at me and smiles before giving a thumbs up.

Eleanor slowly opens the door but just as she did we heard thunder, it gave me a mini heart attack, I put a hand over my heart. "Jesus, that scared the crap out of me!" I whisper. "Yeah, same here." She whispers back whilst slowly starting to walk again, I follow close behind her. While we were walking we heard some guards coming towards us, she grabs my wrist and pulled us behind a wall, we stood there for a little bit and heard nothing else, she nods to me and we start walking again. We eventually make it to the door which needed the key card, Eleanor then starts scratching around in her pocket eventually pulling out a key card and sliding it in.

The door unlocks and she pulls it open for me to go through, she quietly closes the door behind us. "Hey would you look at that? We are almost out of here!" Eleanor says quietly, she gives me a quick smile before she starts walking again. As we were walking Eleanor suddenly stopped in her tracks, she holds up a hand signaling me to stop. "What-" I start. "Sh!" She shushes me. "Don't you shush me!" I say crossing my arms. "Oh my god shut up!" She whispers, I roll my eyes. "How about-"I start, but was quickly cut off. "Hey you guys!" A guard shouted, I quickly look at the man, fear fulling up inside of me. "What do you think you guys are doing out here?" He says whilst walking up to us. "Eleanor! What do we do?" I ask panicked, she just ignored me.

She then started walking up to the guard, I was confused. "Eleanor!" I shout. "Well hello there~" She said whilst she made her way to the guard. "What are you doing out of your cell?" The guard asks whilst putting a hand on his baton. "Oh, I do apologise, but my friend and I were just exploring~" She says in a seductive voice. "Oh? Is that so? Well, inmates are not allowed out here." The guard says with a slight blush on his cheeks. "Awh~ But can't you just make an exception?" She asks while batting her eyes at him. "I- Uh I-" The guard starts but was quickly cut off by Eleanor who grabbed the taser from his belt and quickly tazed him. "Oh my God! You just killed him!" I shriek. "Oh calm down, I only stunned him, now come on, we gotta get out of here!" Eleanor says before running off, I follow after her carefully dodging the supposedly 'alive just stunned' man.

We jog across the hallway eventually making it outside, it was heavily raining and was incredibly windy. "Now what!" I shout for Eleanor to hear. "We must get across the barb wired fence! Make sure no one sees you, keep clear of the lights okay!" She shouts, just then we heard a loud siren. "Shit! The guard I tazed must have woken up! We gotta get out of here now!" She shouts whilst covering her face from the rain, I nod and follow her. We make our way to the fence, by now we could hear guards shouting over the loud rain and thunder along with the sirens. "Okay! I'm going to jump the fence, then I'll help you over okay!" She says, I just stood there eyes wide.
