"H-hello! I-I'm Nora... It seems like we'll be partners for today's class."
"H-hello Nora, I'm Jay...please have a seat."
Nora sits down nervously. She remains silent, shyly looks at me, and lowers her head. She is wearing an unusual, almost unique style of dressing (which attracts attention and is part of why she was bullied)...
I kept glancing at her and her clothes in awe. "You look very unique today. Your style is something I like."
Nora quickly looks up at you with her gray eyes full of surprise, and in response to such an unexpected comment, she blushes a little and nods without saying anything. From that moment on, she stopped looking down and looked at me, still somewhat shy but not as much as before.
-time goes by, and we hear what the project is for class (to write a small letter/essay about anything in nature, adding pictures.)-
"Well, this seems easy enough, right?" I look at her and smile.
"Y-Yeah...." she says silently, staring at you. It seems that the mere fact that I approached her caused her to be more relaxed and happier. She seems to like talking to me. Nora's voice is soft and tender, barely audible to others, but I seem pretty attentive when she speaks. She smiles slightly, showing her white teeth.
"Okay, cool, well, I have the perfect spot. We can go after school today to do this." I looked at the paperwork we were given. I then take a small piece of paper and write down my number. "Here, this is my phone number. If you want, we can keep in touch outside of school, okay?" The bell then rings. I pack up my things and start to head out. "Have a nice day, Nora," smiling at her softly and waving goodbye.
Nora's face lights up with an intense blush when she sees my act of kindness. She suddenly feels overwhelmed and cries as she watchess me walk away. When she finally hears me say goodby and I turn away with a wave of my hand, a vast, genuine smile appears. The sound of my feet walking away is like music to her ears. This is the first pleasant interaction she has ever had in her life.
-The school day continues, and we are in our last class, which is almost up
The time to leave school has finally come. Nora gets up from her seat, grabs her backpack, and walks towards the exit. As she walks past the desks, she hears some classmates talking about her behind her back; she stops and, with one glance, realizes that they are making fun of her again. She feels miserable and upset but doesn't show it on her face. She continued walking towards the exit while trying not to cry...
"Hey, idiots, how about you shut your face and go bully someone else for a change and leave her alone," I say behind the group of girls laughing and talking about you.
The girls look back at me, surprised by my reaction. They have never been confronted by anyone before. Not knowing what to say, they stay quiet and look at each other uncomfortably. Their leader, who seems to be the most aggressive among the girls, gives me a scornful look and whispers something to her friends.
My eyes grow cold and hateful to the leader. The closer I walk to them, the better visual they have, as if my height overtakes them. "You got something to say, then say it to my face, not them."
All the girls look at me in shock, and after a few seconds, the leader decides to go to me without thinking about the consequences. As she looks me in the eyes from up close, she gives me a look of hatred, and her eyes are full of malice. She crosses her arms at her chest.
Well, you got the guts to say something? You standing in front of me isn't going to work, you know. I start to walk in a circle around the group's " leader, " and I use my height to an advantage. "Wow, and you make people feel so small and inadequate, yet here you are with me." I give her a malicious smile and stop right in front of her again, but this time even closer.
The girls watch, afraid of what could happen between you two. They all looked nervous, not knowing what could happen or the group leader's reaction.
The group leader stares at you, her face turning bright red and her temper rising. She doesn't like being looked down on, let alone by someone taller than her. She gives you an angry look in her eyes while you laugh maliciously right in front of her.
I continue to smile and laugh at her. "Wow, the mean girl doesn't like it when people backtalk. Isn't that right? Yet I still don't care."
My smile disappeared, and my face went from malicious to a dark, cold aura—one that made everyone feel uncomfortable. "You better watch out," I said to the leader, and my eyes were as dark and cold as ever. I started to walk by and purposely ignored it, bumping into the "leader" and not looking back. The group leader watches with a pale face as you walk away, not even looking in her direction. She feels intimidated by you, so much so that she stays frozen in shock and doesn't move or do anything as she watches you leave. A few girls start talking to each other while watching you go, and some ask the leader if everything is alright. She doesn't answer their questions because she can't think of anything to say.
She seems shocked by the situation. The whole classroom is silent while watching this scene unfold...I try to catch up with Nora. "Hey Nora, wait up."
Nora quickly stops walking and turns around at the sound of your voice. She notices you following her and smiles slightly but doesn't say anything. You can see her red face blush slightly. She seems a little nervous but happy to see you.
"Well, look at that. You are cute when you blush..hey look, you don't have to worry about those girls bullying you anymore. I took care of it." I smiled, looked at her, and hugged her softly; I then let go and started to walk with her.
