(601 words)

For the next week, nothing truly eventful happened. Mabel hung out with Candy, Grenda, and surprisingly, Pacifica too. Dipper, who hadn't made many friends in Gravity Falls, was out in the woods looking for new mysteries. For the most part, he hadn't found anything. He had a brief, unpleasant run-in with the gnomes, said hi to the manotaurs and the multi-bear, avoided fairy bites, the usual. What was strange was what his brain was doing. No matter what he tried, he couldn't get his mind off Bill. It seemed like being in Gravity Falls was reminding him of so many things, but mainly, Weirdmageddon.

Today, on his way back to the Mystery Shack, his body subconsciously brought him to Bill's statue. He could feel the statue calling to him. Reluctantly, he sat down on a boulder across the statue. Seeing the statue triggered something in his brain because before he could stop himself, he started crying. It had taken a long time, but the stress of Weirdmageddon caught up to him. He'd been so afraid. Everything had been his fault and everything had rested on him to fix. Then, Grunkle Stan had paid for his mistakes. He felt guilty and underneath it all, there was a string of sadness for Bill. He was sad it had to end the way it did. He couldn't stop himself from feeling Bill could've changed. He was so powerful, but his power could've also been used for good.

Maybe Bill could've helped the Falls. Maybe he could've used his power to make life better! Suddenly, and idea shot through his head. A deal could change him. No one would like it much at first, but what did that matter if it meant Bill couldn't be a threat ever again! Dipper wasn't sure if Bill was conscious inside the statue or even if he was in it, but Dipper knew he wanted to be free.

"I want to make a deal," Dipper started, surprising himself but continuing," I will free you, but there are a few conditions:

1.) You can't harm anyone in any way.

2.) You will be powerless

3.) You will try to change for the better

Lastly, if I believe you are a threat, I can return you to the statue by saying aloud, 'Return to stone.'"

After Dipper was finished, he grabbed Bill's stone hand.

"Deal."

What felt like instinct took over and Dipper gently pulled on Bill's hand. Out of thin air, a body started to appear as he pulled. First, a black gloved hand, then a white sleeve, which lead to a yellow vest with a brick pattern at the bottom. Dipper saw short yellow-blond hair with a black undercut, tanish skin, and a the boy had a missing eye. The tension seemed to release and with a POP his whole body appeared. Dipper fell back on his butt and about 2 feet away from him, the boy, who looked about Dipper's age, fell on his hands and knees.

"Eerf mi," he said awestruck.

"Bill?" Dipper asked confused.

"Pinetree!" Bill cried, looking up. He raced up and hugged Dipper, "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"

"It's really you," Dipper breathed, "but why are you..."

"Human?" Bill finished, pulling away when Dipper didn't hug back, "Maybe it was part of the stipulation 'powerless?'"

'Great' Dipper thought, 'now there's even less of a chance of hiding him.'

"How am I supposed to explain this?" Dipper asked mostly to himself, "After what you did during Weirdmageddon?"

"What?" Bill said, seemingly confused.

"You know," Dipper said slightly irritated, "the torture and destruction and throne of petrified people."

Dipper shuddered and looked up to see Bill's face. He looked horrified.

"I don't remember that," Bill whispered.
