Lauv's voice filled the air, and the crowd was enchanted by his songs. Lollapalooza was a captivating experience for everyone around, except for me. It felt like a cruel reminder of my unromantic life. Crying at my sad reality I was walking towards the washroom when when I bumped into someone. And their drink was now in my hair.
Brilliant.
I wasn't kidding when I said my reality is sad, here's the proof. But it was my fault so I started apologizing
" Sorry sorry sorry"
And that's when I saw who was the victim of my clumsiness and another proof of my sad reality. I bumped into none other than the current boy crush of the nation, Vedang Raina who was looking at me as if he had seen a ghost.
" I am really sorry. I'll buy you another drink." I apologized again.
But then he denied
" No, you don't have to. I don't need another drink. But it seems like you need tissues for your hair. Should I go get some?"
" No, no, no. I am fine. I was anyway on my way to the washroom. But I can really buy you another drink"
" You don't have to. And it's okay, It wasn't only your fault."
With that, we parted ways.
I mean I just met Vedang Raina and I can't even believe it. I mean, I wish the situation was different. But no.____________
It's been a week since Lollapalooza, and this week I am at Spoken. Spoken is one of my favourite fests, this is the place where I get to enjoy one thing I love more than anything. Literature, art and myself. And as I was moving ahead Swinging with music playing in the background I bumped into someone. And spilled their drink. And I know co-incidence exists but can it be this bad coincidence that I experienced the exact same thing twice with the same person at different places?
Yes, you guessed it right. I bumped into and spilled Vedang Raina's drink. Again.
And this time he's looking at me with another level of disbelief.
" I am so sorry. I am truly very sorry. Even I don't know how I can be this clumsy. I don't even know what to say." I apologized
And this time he chuckled at that.
" God.. you really are clumsy. But this time I am not sparing you. Buy me another drink " he said with a smile, while I was looking at him as if I saw a ghost.
" Umm.. yes. Umm tell me what you want I'll get it for you."
" Nope, what if you runaway?" he questioned with a smirk
" Okay... Then come along."
With that, we moved towards the bar when he started laughing hard and I was looking at him awkwardly.
" God really is the best writer." He said when he noticed me staring at him.
"Btw, I am Vedang " he introduced himself which was technically not needed
" I know who you are. I'll have to live under the rock to not know that. I mean Archies was literally everywhere "" Mm.. wow. Good to know you know who I am. But may get your name? Please. Or I can just call you Ms. Clumsy."
" Y/N" I replied to him and by now we had reached the counter
"What do you want?" I asked him
" Anything, if I am getting your company with it"
" Sorry, what?"
" Nothing a bira would work"
I was handing him the beer when I got a call from my friends saying they are looking for me.
" I' ll have to leave. My friends are waiting for me."" You were supposed to get me drinks" he stated with a shock
" I just gave you your drink"
" This one is for today. What about the last one's"Confused, I watched as he finally revealed his true intentions, "Okay, you can go if you give me your number and agree to go out for a drink with me."
His words sent a flutter of butterflies through me. "You wanted to ask me out?"
"Yes, I regretted not doing it last week. So, Ms. Y/N, do you accept?"
And with a heart full of hope and excitement, I said, "Yes."
Who knew getting drenched into drinks can get you a date?
