Walking into the Hermes cabin was like walking into a bathroom full of girls. In the sense that it was absolute chaos. There were campers everywhere. They were on the floor, sitting on bunks, not to mention the sleeping bags filled with items just lying on the floor!
It was a mess, really. Ivy resisted the urge to cover her ears as soon as she entered. The chaos was too much for her. She could barely handle herself being messy in her own cabin, she couldn't imagine having to stay in this.
Putting all that aside, she was looking for someone amidst the chaos of the cabin. It was the last person she wanted to see, none other than Luke Castellan, the Hermes cabins own senior counselor.
Unfortunately, he was no where to be found, so she settled with asking his half-brother, and one of her closest friends, Connor Stoll.
"Hey! Connor!" she had to raise her voice due to the overall noise of the cabin, but also because the son of Hermes could never hear anything.
"Wha- oh! Hi Ivy!"
She giggled slightly. "Hey, where's Luke?"
"Oh I'm great Ivy, thank you so much for asking! How are you today," Connor said sarcastically.
"Very funny," she deadpanned. "Can you please just tell me where he is."
"Why do you wan't to know?"
"I need to talk to him about something."
"You're not, like, going to kill him or something right?" Connor asked, slightly worried but mainly amused.
Ivy took a deep breath before responding. "No, but I might kill you if you don't tell me where he is."
Connor scanned the cabin, looking for a sign of his older brother. "Well, I don't see him, but I think if you just wander around the cabin you should be able to find him."
"Great, thanks."
He nodded and sent her a small smile, which she gladly returned.
She trudged through the cabin, careful not to step on anybody's stuff. She eventually found Luke, talking to a younger camper.
"Luke."
He turned around, glaring at her. "Ivy, what do you want?"
She glared right back at him. "I came to tell you that you've got a new camper incoming. Chiron's giving him a tour right now."
"The one that killed the minotaur?"
"Yup." Ivy said, popping the p. "Also, can you try to get your cabin to be nice to him? The poor guy lost his mom a few days ago. The last thing he needs is a whole gang of kids picking on him."
"I'll try, but I can't promise anything."
"Okay," she said, sending Luke one last wary look before turning around to leave.
Ivy and Luke had never really gotten along. Since day one, Luke had always given her some strange vibes, and his pride really irked her. Ivy did consider that she might've been the problem, but she eventually decided against that fact. I mean, what kind of sixteen year old has beef with a nine year old! The only reason why they remained 'civil' with one another was because of Annabeth.
She walked out of the Hermes cabin and joined said girl, who was sitting on the porch.
"Remind me to never enter that cabin again," she sighed, exasperated.
