I was surprised to see a text from Michael yesterday apologizing for yelling at me. I really wanted to finish my book ending but managed to push it to the back of my mind the entire week.

So I texted Michael this:
"Hey, are you busy this afternoon? I still want to find out what happens to the main character."

Michael replied a minute later:
"Sure, but why don't we go swimming first? It's so hot and it's only going to get hotter. I won't be able to come up with an ending if I'm dehydrated."

I laughed to myself quietly.
"Ok loser, only if you promise to give me an ending to my story," I texted back.

"😎k" replied Michael.

I put on my cute swimsuit again with a light cover up. I grabbed another book I was reading, this one about crime scenes and detectives.

I met Michael at the beach and spotted him sitting on a deck chair. The chairs beside him were occupied. One had a fat women in it and the other had only a beach towel on it.

I walked over to Michael and attempted to scare him. I was about to yell out "boo" when Michael sat up. "Aw," I moaned with defeat. "Haha, you were gonna try to scare me again?" Michael said to me. "I sensed you with my super powers," he joked. "Come on! How come you always hear me or see me or sense me coming? It's like impossible for me to scare you," I whined. "No one can scare me," Michael said, puffing out his chest.

Michael suddenly stood up and grabbed my hand. I had a bad feeling about this, so I tossed my book onto the deck chair along with my towel. "Let me go! Michael James Seafare," I yelled trying to resist. Michael was not necessarily buff, but he was tall lean and muscular.

There was no use. I gave up resisting and let Michael drag me to the waters edge. The waves gently lapped at our feet. Our feet sunk in the sand, the grittiness a pleasant feeling.

Before I know what was happening, my "so called" best friend picked me up damsel in distress style and ran into the cool water. I felt myself fly through the air realizing too late what Michael did. I crashed into the water and came back up laughing.

"I'm going to get you Mr. Badass!" I screamed while swimming to Michael. "Catch me if you can then," he said with a cheeky grin. We chased each other around until we were tired out. Together we made our way back to the shore and agreed to work on tans. "In going to stop by the bathroom quick," I said pulling away from Michael's side. "Ok," he replied heading the opposite way.

I took a quick detour to the bathroom and went back to where Michael was sitting. When I got close enough, I saw Michael hovering over a girl. At first it looked like flirting, but as I got even closer I saw that Michael was instead shouting at the girl.

The girl had a decent body and had a perfect tan. She had dark reddish hair with bright green eyes. In her hands was my book. It looked like Michael was trying to get my book back.

"It's alright Michael," I said with a reassuring tone. He looked warily at me for being nice to a complete stranger who had one of my belongings. The only reason why I let her keep looking at the book was because she seemed like a nerd despite her looks.

"Oh hi," the stranger said giving me a huge smile. "Sorry for looking at your book. It just seemed so interesting. The cover was captivating and mysterious. Your boyfriend over here thought I was a thief." I blushed at her word boyfriend. "He's not my boyfriend," I defensibly blurted out.

"Whoops my bad," the girl said sincerely. the girl started to ramble on about the book again when I said, "Yeah, I love this book too." I used a monotone voice for some reason which made the girl say, "Oh I'm so sorry for keeping your book. I didn't mean to pick it up. Only to grab the title."

I felt bad for pressuring the girl so I tried to be more friendly. "Hi I never introduced myself," I said. "My name is Simone." The girl looked so red. "I am soo rude!" She exclaimed. "I'm so sorry I didn't introduce myself, I mean I'm the one who came in and looked at your book intruding on your boyfriend-" "He is NOT my boyfriend," I said emphasizing on not.

The strange girl ignored me and kept talking. "Taking your chair-" "STOP," I yelled at the stranger. The girl finally shut up and looked at me with wide eyes. "Just tell me your name," I sighed. "Oh I totally forgot to say my name," she giggled. I was talking about-" "Just tell me your name," I said with as much calm I could muster. "Colbie Fresseir," the girl replied. "Thank you," I said.

"I didn't mean to pressure you or anything," I apologized. "And your certainly a talker," I observed. "Yeah I am," Colbie said with a bright smile. We soon got to talking smoothly about books. Turns out she was a pretty big booky just like me! She brought a book as well named The Night Circus.

I forgot about Michael until I felt a tap on my arm. I looked around and saw Michael just standing there. "Michael I'm so sorry to keep you waiting," I cried.

I had to get home soon anyway so I quickly swapped numbers with Colbie and I promised we would see each other soon. Then finally Michael and I headed back home without even talking about the lost ending of my story.
