Chapter 01

It's your first time here in New York. The chilly weather is quite new to you. You've experienced chilly weather at your place before but never a minus degree. You feel nervous with your each footstep while you're reaching your destination. Finally, after reaching the destination, you simply let out a sigh and moved forward to press the doorbell.

*Ding-Dong*

While you were nervously tapping your feet, the door opened, and you felt relieved after seeing the person who opened the door. But, he just questioned you, "What the hell are you doing here, Y/N? "while maintaining a shock expression on his face.

It's Daniel, your best friend at college.

You, Daniel, and Jungkook were best friends at College. Jungkook slowly started developing feelings for you, and after a long boosting session from Daniel, he got the courage to propose to you. In the beginning, you were confused about what to do and started ignoring jungkook for a few days but accepted his proposal later. Your relationship was sweet in the beginning, just like any other relationship. But slowly, there were on-offs in your relationship. you started fighting for silly things and got back together again. But for that one first time, it remained your last. your last time to talk to each other, your last time seeing each other, your last time to care for each other. After a few days, one of you started trying to get back things to normal, but the other always ended up not getting back. It was vice versa after a few days. Your college ended, and you thought maybe your relationship ended too. But, after 4 years after your no talk games, one fine day, jungkook called you to meet and settle things between both of you, to which you denied.

"Danny," you called him sweetly and went for a hug. Danny was like your brother/best friend. He was there for you throughout your heartbreak phase, but he was there for jungkook, too. You were not in regular contact with danny, but both of you checked on each other randomly.

"Gosh, I missed you. Why were you here? "He asked, panicking and looking at the room located on the first floor. That's Jungkook's room, you realised, noticing the panic on danny's face and how nervous he was.

Danny and Jungkook were hanging out with each other, just like how they used to during your college days. It's just that you were missing in that group. After working for a few years at a company, both of them came to New York to pursue their masters. You knew both of them lived together just by looking at Danny's random posts on instagram, tagging him, and posting pictures clicked with him. Now, it's confirmed.

"Where's Jungkook? "you enquired, coming straight to the point. "He's in his room," danny told while pointing towards jungkook's room that's located on the first floor. "What happened, Y/N? Is there anything wrong? " he further asked with a concern on his face.

" I'll talk to you later, " you say, and walk towards Jungkook's room. You knocked on the door, but after not getting a positive response, you slowly opened the door. There he is. Sleeping. The love of your life.

You thought you could move on after Jungkook. You've known many other guys after jungkook. A few of them developed feelings for you, but you never reciprocated them. You always considered them a friend. You've questioned yourself many times why you are not liking anyone else. The answer is simple- You can never love anyone else but jungkook and anyone like Jungkook.

You slowly moved forward towards his sleeping figure. You saw him in his teens when you last met. Both of you are in your twenties now. You did see him in danny's instagram posts these days, but this is the first time you're seeing him in person again after you last met. His features are a bit mature now. You did see a few changes in his facial features, but that cute pout you've witnessed many times during video calls while he was sleeping has never changed.
