The Weasley Twins and a Certain Map

It was a weekend night at Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. So of course Fred and George Weasley were up to something.

They sat in the Gryffindor common room until they were sure everyone was asleep. “I found the particular locking spell Filch uses on his office– wouldn't it be nice if Alohomora worked for everything?– so all we have to do is go down there, avoid the cat, use the spell, and see what things he has that would be better in our possession,” Fred had explained, and George nodded with a large grin in response.

A few hours later, and they hadn't heard anyone for about 75 minutes. “I think the coast is clear,” Fred announced.

The mischievous twins snuck to Filch’s office and Fred used the counter charm on the lock. Closing the door behind them as quietly as possible they started to look through the various items confiscated by Filch throughout the years. They pocketed a few things before George came across a spare scrap of paper, with all the super cool (which all happened to also be super not allowed) stuff.

A few seconds after he picked it up (allowing the map some time to read him, although he didn't know that) the map displayed, “do you solemnly swear…”

George waved his brother over so they could both see the paper. “Um, I solemnly swear to… cause trouble?” He joked.

“I solemnly swear to have fun.”

“I solemnly swear to play pranks,” they were really having fun with it now, not really sure what they were trying to do.

“I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.” At Fred's words, the paper wrote, “Messrs Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs present to you the Marauders Map.” When the text faded away, there was a map of Hogwarts with people's names.

“Wicked,” they exclaimed at the same time.

“Dumbledore must be pacing in his study,” George said, pointing to the professor's name. “I think that's what this does, anyway. Tell us where people are.

Fred nodded at pointed to another spot on the map, “there we are! In Filch's office. That's definitely what the map does.”

The two red heads looked at each other and smiled. They were going to have a lot of fun with this map.
