[ LUCY ]

THE MORNING BEFORE LUCY'S LIFE WOULD FOREVER BE CHANGED, Lucy had ironically slept in. The bustle and morning chatter of her fellow friends in Cabin 7 went in one ear and right out the other. Sleeping on one of the top bunk beds seemed to have that perk, but in this case, it meant she would be late for breakfast.

"Lucy." A boy called from below tiredly. Silence. "Lucy?" Her brother called again. Silence. Lucy was as still as the statues on Mount Olympus. Her brother sighed, trying to hide the smile that emerged on his face at the sound of his sister's soft snores.

"Lulu, c'mon. You're gonna make us late for breakfast." Luke warned with a huff. The bedsheets rustled and a head of jet-black hair rose up on the other side of the bed's wooden railing. "...Hmpf??" Lucy hummed tiredly, rubbing her eyes to get rid of the sleep dusting her eyelashes. Luke snorted at the sight of her messy hair and shook his head. "Let's go!" He beckoned softly, trying to encourage his sister of the urgency of the situation. She still seemed to be taking her sweet time though...

"If you don't get up soon, Chris might steal your omelet." Luke teased, looking up at his younger sister with a playful glint in his eyes. Knowing that Chris sometimes got food for the Castellans when they were late, her eyes widened, and she sat up abruptly. She snapped her head down at her brother.

"He wouldn't dare." Luke shrugged playfully. "I don't know... He's especially hungry this morning." Luke joked in a sing-song voice, smiling triumphantly as he began to walk towards the door of their cabin. He smiled even wider when he heard his sister scrambling out of bed and the sound of her chasing after him.

"You absolute piece of crap! I was having a good sleep, you know." Lucy hissed, trudging up to Luke while straightening out her bright orange Camp Half-Blood t-shirt. "I know." Luke sneered back playfully. The two Castellans walked together to breakfast while Lucy attempted to strangle her messy hair into a loose ponytail that cascaded down her back. Other half-bloods around camp greeted them as they walked, a few saying hello while others simply just waved to them.

When they arrived at the pavilion for breakfast, Luke and Lucy both went and got their breakfast together. Luke got his usual, while Lucy got her own omelet that was the size of her whole plate. Lucy sat down with her brother and Chris at the Cabin 11 table. Chris raised an eyebrow while Lucy began to dig into her egg like she hadn't eaten in days. Luke snickered. Lucy looked up at the two annoyed.

"What?" Lucy's voice was muffled as part of her omelet was stuffed in her mouth. "Nothing." Luke said innocently, averting his eyes down to his own plate. Lucy narrowed her eyes at her older brother before she continued to eat her breakfast slowly.

"So," Chris started by clearing his throat and letting his fork fall onto his plate. "You guys getting excited for capture the flag in a few days?" Lucy nodded. "Mhm! Annabeth says she's working on a new strategy for us." Lucy replied, taking a sip of orange juice from the glass she got earlier with her breakfast.
