                                                                               A Brand-new world

Yamanu walked alongside Maple, as she marched to her friends' house.

"So, I'm going to be able to understand all of your barks and yips now?" Maple asked.

"Yep! I guess so, and I can understand your endless yapping now." Yamanu responded.

"Wow, endless yapping? For your information it's my friends that always talk so much!" Maple squeaked.

"Yeah, yeah. Now stop talking to me, you can't let anyone know you can understand me."

Maple knocked on her friend's door. Prim and Stella opened the door at the same time, arguing with each other. When they saw Yamanu they immediately started hugging, petting, and welcoming him. Maple watched as Yamanu struggled to get free.

"You guys might want to let go before he bites you." She said.

"He won't-" Prim started.

"Ouch!"

Yamanu had bitten stella's pinky. Both girls had already let him go. Yamanu sat against Maples' leg licking his paw.

"Maple! Your just gonna let him bite her like that?"

"I tried to warn you."

"Wow, that hurts Maple. That hurts. Literally. Can I get some ice?!" Stella complained.

Maple looked at Yamanu, and He stared back at her. He knew exactly what that look meant. Yamanu marched over to stella and licked where he had bitten as an apology. He looked back at Maple again. She was satisfied.

"Where did you find him?" Prim asked once she calmed down.

"In the middle of the woods. He was with a pack just hanging out." Maple responded.

"That's weird"

"Is it?"

"I mean, Kind of. He's never known any wolves before. I didn't think he'd just automatically get along with them. It just doesn't make sense." Prim stood up and looked at Yamanu.

They locked eyes for a moment. Yamanu blinked away, cowering behind Maple.

"Are you sure that's him?"

It took Maple a moment to register the question. She thought a moment.

"Yes. It's him." She looked down at Yamanu.

He stared back.

"Okay... As long as, you're sure." Prim said.

"I'm sure." Maple confirmed.

Yamanu padded down the street. It had been a while since they had left the forest, but not too long. He sniffed the ground, the trees, the cars. He didn't find anything. Since they left the safety of the tall trees, Yamanu had an uneasy feeling. Similar to the feeling he had in the forest when hunting. He had thought it was just Maple, but now he thought differently. Now, he knew something else was there. An unfamiliar feeling Yamanu didn't like.

He feels my presence. It won't be long till he is able to detect where I am. I must be careful. I must complete the mission.

"Yamanu!"

Yamanu whipped around, alert. It was, of course, Maple.

"Yamanu, where are you going?"

"If you must know, I'm looking for something... or maybe someone."
