Coming from the vast Bao Island, an enormous approached the shores of the great country of Chen bearing around two hundred passengers. As it docked, a great variety of social classes, ages, and races disembarked into the bustling coastal city. Many appeared visibly anxious, while others gleamed with hope and aspiration. Some glared at the hopeful ones with disdain and contempt. Many of these people were nobles from small families, so there was bound to be some animosity between them.

The world contains hundreds of sects, each of which would take disciples in and hone their skills, teaching them techniques that had been passed down among them for centuries and producing the elite martial artists of society. Of these, seven formidable sects in the large country of Chen reigned supreme. And every seven years, these revered sects would take a turn at hosting a series of entrance exams, scouting for prodigious cultivators with latent talent. Though there are many ways to join a section, this is the way to join and make yourself known to the world: a way to tell it "I am here. Remember my name!"

Today was that day, an event eagerly anticipated by many. A large family donned in majestic, dark blue robes had exited a nearby ship at the same time, and were moving towards the same direction. Each member of this large family exuded strength and sophistication, along with arrogance. They rode on large blue and white furred beasts not found in Chen, which only added to their majesty. Nobody dared to stand in their royal way.

That was excluding an ignorant group of three, who were promptly slammed into a nearby building by the single swipe of a beast paw.

"Hmph. It seems the Li family still doesn't know their place. To think they sent a pig as their representative!"

A woman seated on one of the beasts spoke with a giggle, staring right at the three who had been swatted like flies.

"Stop teasing them, mother. Pigs are seldom aware of their surroundings."

Seated in front of her on the same beast was a handsome man of around twenty years old. He shot the three men an arrogant glance with a hint of pity, which eventually turned into a smirk as the beast continued to walk on. The rest of the nobles from that family stared the insolent worms down from their beasts as if they had been personally wronged.

Actually, this family was by no means the highest in rank, and many similar families displayed their strengths as they walked to the meeting location.

These were representatives of clans, which are families that have established themselves into a small group.

The three men swatted into the wall of the now damaged building slowly got up. None of them seemed to have taken serious damage.

"Ahem... I have no doubts in my mind that the great sect will notice you today, young lord Li! Pay those Raiju bastards no mind. They will pay!"

Speaking was a frail man, appearing to be in his late fifties. He was clothed in cheap servant attire which was now covered in dirt and dust, but miraculously, he wasn't injured.

A posh looking, chubby teen clad in a flashy yellow (and dusty) robe, looked back proudly. "Hah! Of course they will, you stupid idiot. I'm Qiang Li of the destructive whirlwind sword!", he said, brandishing the expensive sword on his hip. This one was also uninjured, but it wasn't surprising in this case. He was clearly a cultivator, albeit a beginner. He was at the first stage of cultivation: Qi Condensation.

Another boy of around 16 years old, also dressed in servants attire, followed the two as they headed with the crowd through the city and towards the Jade Palace. Though it was clear from his attire he was a mere servant, he had a refined look to him due to his sharp features and his long, black hair. On top of this, the Qi exuding from his body showed that he was also a beginner cultivator. However, it was clear to any experienced cultivator that this boys latent talent was average at best.
