Ifakat always knew everything first.

How had she managed to keep that power, have eyes everywhere, control the game, when she'd been demoted to the bottom of the chain inside the house was still a mystery for everyone; but then again, this was Ifakat, no ordinary woman. So, of course it would be her the first one to notice the subtle changes in Suna.

Kaya came in second, which wouldn't come to anyone's surprise either, as his devotion towards his wife was as clear as a summer sky. What first caught his attention was her sudden disgust for any fruit; then, when they were giving in to each other, he noticed little changes in Suna's body, like how much more sensitive her breasts were when he touched them. Could it truly be that what they'd been wanting all along was finally happening?

Funny enough, Suna wasn't the next one to notice the obvious; Ferit beat her to it. But unlike Ifakat or Kaya, the Korhan's golden boy wasn't subtle with his words: he straight up complained of how moody she was lately, and even made a joke about her being more hormonal than women in general, as if she was pregnant or something. Kaya was furious with his cousin's mockery, but Suna actually started to realize that maybe her brother-in-law had a point.

So, she took Kaya's hand before he could lose control, and with a single glance told him they needed to take the car and go see a doctor. Hours later, just before dinner, Suna got a call announcing the results of her blood tests, the reality of what was happening really hitting her: she was five-weeks pregnant.

She immediately went to tell Kaya, who was drawing in the terrace before the lasts rays of sunshine disappeared and gave way to the mighty moon and stars. She was blunt, not wasting any minute to share her happiness with her husband; Kaya dropped the pencil and sketch book the moment the words came out of her mouth, only to rush towards her and embrace her with a force that almost left her out of breath. She couldn't help but smile, tears slowly slipping through her face, and when he let go, she realized his face was the same. They didn't need any other words, for their glances filled with hope, excitement, and happiness, were more than enough; and delicately holding her face in between his hands, the soon-to-be parents rested their foreheads on each other, a silent promise of never-ending love for the creature growing inside Suna.

They decided to wait at least a week before telling the rest of the family, unknown to the fact that Ifakat already knew (the glances shared by the young couple were all the confirmation she needed of her assumptions) and was already thinking about what this would mean for her and Suna. Ferit, on the other hand, never uttered another word about Suna's mood swings, but the shine in his sister-in-law's eyes told him Moody Suna was here to stay for a while.

Those first days, before announcing her pregnancy to the Korhans, Suna and Kaya formed a new kind of bond that neither thought was possible. They'd had their ups and downs at the beginning of their relationship, and even after all was good and solved, Suna kept feeling something was missing between them, something that could finally prove how truly in love she was with him. And that night, hours after hearing the news of their growing family, Suna realized that maybe to him this was it, this was the final proof of her choice, the way of showing him that whatever were to happen in the future, there was something that would now always tie them together, something that would come to be a demonstration of their love.

So, when they finally found each other alone in bed that night, Kaya spooned his wife with such care and love that Suna would forever remember that moment, how loved and cherished she felt, how safe, how sure that she was in the right place, her place: in Kaya's arms.

-------------

Many things were to be discovered throughout those nine months.

First, that Suna became a very different person on each trimester. On the first one, she was extremely moody, irritable, and sometimes even bitchy for no apparent reason. On the second one, she became a cry-baby, didn't crave sweets of any type, and -only known to her husband- extremely horny. But on the third, she magically came back to her old-self, always composed, a model of virtue and reason, although nightmares began to haunt her now and then, all with the same thing in common: the fear of losing her child to the machinations of the Korhan family.
