As my phone began dialling her number, I tried to clear my throat. "Hey," still, my voice groggily greeted through the telephone.
"Hey!" An image of an innocent smile plastered on her face popped up in my head.
"Hey," I tried to slow down my heart rate. "I- Um- Did I call you last night?"
"Uh, I don't think so. Why?" My breath hitched ever so slightly before she promptly continued on. "Is everything okay?"
"Hm? Yeah, everything's fine."
"Are you sure? I-"
"Yeah," I could hear my poor imitation of a laugh echo through my apartment. "I just wanted to make sure I didn't make a fool of myself and butt-dialled my contact list." Truth is, she was my only friend.
"Oh. Haha, it wouldn't be the first time," she giggled mindlessly.
"Ha, yeah." Silence. Zero. Zilch. Nada. I could sense a marathon of aches inside my brain forthcoming. "I'll- Uh- I'll talk to you soon, okay?" I slurred my way through the sentence. I hope she didn't notice.
"Um, yeah. Okay-" I hung up.
I called her last night. Yeah I was drunk, but I was sober enough to know that I did, in fact, call her. I was losing her too, the last person I had. I flung my phone across the room, onto my bean bag chair and plopped myself onto my cold bed. "What time is it?" I groaned and turned to look at my alarm clock, my half-empty bottle of Jack Daniel's block my vision. "Well, it's not going to finish by itself, now is it?" I scorned and hit my head a few times, trying to knock out the pounding. Grabbing my muse, I toasted to myself and took a big swig before falling unconscious.

HELLO PEOPLE OF THE INTERNET! Rixton's song Speakerphone inspired this story line. I highly recommend that you go and check out their debut album Let the Road because its track list is AMAZEBALLS and can have you addicted to its sound after one run. I promise you this is not sponsored... I honestly don't know how you would sponsor through this... What am I talking about? I am confusing myself. I bet none of you are reading this. Bye. PS: Not all chapters are going to be this short
