Chapter 2

Jessica

Ten hours later and we finally landed. I sadly could not get drinks but free sprite was nice and of course the food was terrible but it's fine. Everyone was trying to get off the plane like they're escaping a fire .I followed the crowd and heads out to the luggage pick up and waited for my grey suit case to roll around . Lucky for me , it was one of the first one out thank god . I grabbed it and headed through customs and saw Anne waiting with a big smile on their face.

"Oh my goodness look at you ! You are just so beautiful, I promised your mother I would take care of you or at least help you get on your feet while you're here ."

"Thank you Anne . Sorry I haven't really said much , still pretty tired from the plane , didn't sleep well ."  She understood and we headed to the car. The car ride was silent , mainly because I pretended to sleep so I didn't have to talk about my dad and Jonathan . I know she want to bring it up at some point. Her house wasn't too far from the airport . We reached her house and she tried to help me but my luggage was just way too heavy . Once we got to the doors we were greeted by Gemma . I always thought she was so beautiful and I was jealous of her beauty.

"Oh my gooood my little Jess all grown ! I mean I know I just saw you a few months ago but I didn't get to say much but I'm so glad you're here !" She squealed giving me a big hug .
"Gemma , be a doll and show her to her room upstairs please . I gotta call up Harry to see if he's coming tonight for dinner ." She rolled her eyes and guided me upstairs to my room . It had a lot of boys stuff so I'm guessing this is or was Harry's room . I guess he doesn't live here anymore.

"Sorry it's not more your style. You're not the only one who went rogue ." She laughed . I guess Harry did leave and didn't come back . I haven't seen him in so long . " oh but don't worry , he's going to the same college you're going to so it's okay , he's just staying in the dorms ." Ah , makes more sense . "Well, I'll let you rest and unpack. Mum is probably gonna call us down for dinner later." I smiles and she headed out the door. I began to unpack my clothes and put them in the closet and drawers. I wonder if Harry got fat or really ugly cause there are like no pictures of him anywhere . Only baby pictures till he was about 9. Damn it I wanna know what he looks like now , his ass better show up tonight.

3 hours later

" Gemma ! Jess! It's dinner time !" Anne shouted from downstairs . Shit I drifted to sleep again. I checked my phone and saw two missed calls from my mom and a text from Caroline with her saying she misses me already. I am still upset with my mom . I let her know that I made it but just by text. Couldn't deal with the crying once I landed from a 10 hour flight.  I rushed downstairs to Anne's delicious cooking . For once it's not pizza or Taco Bell or even alcohol  for dinner . That was a force of habit .  I sat down and too a bite of the mash potatoes and oh my god it was like heaven in my mouth.

"So , Jess." Here we go "Are you excited to college ?" She asked . I know she was just trying to be polite and make conversation.

"Uh yea , I mean it's not Stanford but that's down the drain right ." I laughed but just made it awkward. I looked at the empty seat and took a wild guess and say Harry didn't show . Anne saw the disappointment in my face but I just continued to eat .

"So brother of the year decided not to take time off his schedule to come see Jess huh ." Gemma remarked making Anne upset.

"Harry had plans tonight so it's okay ." Gemma rolled her eyes yet again at her mother.

" I forgot, Harry is the favorite and can get away with anything ."  Anne slammed her hand on the table startling the both of us.

"Gemma please don't start this again. We have a guest staying with us . The last thing she needs is for us to fight ." The memories flood back of my mother and I fighting like this and I suddenly lost my appetite.
