I watch my nails tap rhythmically on the bare skin of Terran's back. My white nails striking against his deep chocolate complexion. His back was marred with three welted marks across his lower back. I trail my fingers down his skin almost touching the scars when his body rumbles with a threatening growl, reminding me of the position I am in. Hanging upside down, in a stranger's clothing, with my petunia about hanging out for all the world to see.
"Hey, mister boss wolf can you put me down? The view back here isn't great, and I am capable of walking." I called over my shoulder to him and started shifting my body hoping to be released. Instead, he growled loudly. Well, I wasn't lying. The view wasn't great, it was gorgeous but no need for him to know I thought that.
The girl from earlier stopped in front of us spinning on her heel. "Terran, you are acting like a fool. Put the Omega down. She doesn't stand a change in running from us and you are acting like a bonded male." Her voice dripped with malice as she glared at the Terran hand that held my petunia to prevent me from moving. Heat spread through me, and I started wigging more. Desperate to get away from this Alpha male.
"Hey buddy, hands off the merchandise. If you touch it, you buy it." I landed hard on the ground and flailed like a fish for a few seconds before being able to reorient myself again. I glared up at Terran who looked at me like he just walked in on his parents' mate; totally disturbed. Well, ouch. I thought suddenly annoyed the thought of buying my goods obviously disgust him so much. Wait! What am I thinking? I don't even know this male and he forced me to come with him!
"Let's get one thing straight right now little wolf. I have no interest in what you are selling, and I never will." He sneered down at me flashing sharp canines at me. He a sharp look at the other female wolf he spoke in a monotone voice, "Fine Sage, but if she tries to run, I am breaking her legs and dragging her back by the root of her hair." A shiver worked its way up my spine at the dark look in his eyes and I knew he meant every word. I fought against moving my body as fear coursed through my veins. Alpha males didn't talk to or about Omega's that way in my tribe and it made my mother's last words to me flash though my mind. Be careful Sybil. Be smart. There are those out there who would harm you without a second thought and it isn't just witches.
"Stand and walk Omega. We have a lot of ground to cover, and I would like to sleep in my own bed tonight." Terran walked past me and didn't come back. He started talking to the other male with him that hasn't spoken this entire time. He was leaner, with straw blonde hair and blue eyes. Another handsome Alpha. I wonder if their whole tribe is bursting with attractive males, or if these two are just flukes of gorgeousness.
Taking a deep breath, I stand up and shake my head to clear it of thinking of the two men who were speaking lowly a few yards away. I turn to the woman, Sage, and took a moment to consider her. She was a strongly built female. Broad shoulder, large nose, square jaw and cords of muscles showing in her arms as she moved. I also noted through scent that she is a Beta. I felt relief knowing she had no chance with Terran. Betas can only mate Betas. I shake my head roughly again and curse myself for thinking of Terran in any possessive way. I just met the man and so far, he's been rude, controlling and threatened to break my legs for Moon Goddesses sake! I am not attracted to this male. There is no way; I have just been deprived of socializing with other shifters for so long that my instincts are going crazy. Yup, that's the reason!
"Let's get moving shall we." I clap my hands and start walking ahead of the group, "We don't want to make Mr. Alpha over there have to go without his warm, snugly bed for a night."
"You're going the wrong way," An annoyed voice rang out. Looking back, I seen the blonde man pointing in a different direction than I was heading.
Well, he isn't a fan of me either apparently," I mumbled to myself before turning to walk in the direction that was shown to me. I ended up walking in the middle of a triangle they formed around me. Like I would actually leave when the promise of a warm bed, hot food and the safety of a pack were on the table? My mother was right to worry about me, I thought as I realized how stupid it was for me to blindly follow them, but the threat of broken legs keeps me going along with me without a fuss.
