Flashback

12th Bday

I wake up and look down at my hand and notice the black crescent moon."I guess that this is my Pokemon typing", I say examining it. My mother walks up the stairs and sees me looking down at my hand and comes to sit next to me."Kassie! You are a dark trainer,this is a very difficult type that few if any have been chosen to master, there will be people along the way that will hate you because of this, so I recommend that you keep it covered", She says handing me a small box. I open the box and inside is a small necklace, that I recognize to be my grandmothers,that has been passed down to me. I hug my mother and get out of bed to get dressed, first heading to my dresser and slipping on my black,finger less gloves.Well not like I left the house without them any ways, I think to myself. My mom leaves the room and I finished getting dressed, I throw on a pair of black skinny jeans,a white v-neck t shirt, and my black hooded vest, before heading downstairs.

16th bday

I wake up to the sound of footsteps heading up the stairs, and quickly reach to my bedside table and pull on my finger less gloves. "Kassie,time to get up and ready for the party", my mother says walking into my room, and I let out a sigh of relief. She closes the door and I get up and go take a shower, trying to tame my long black hair. I love my hair it is nearly waist length and pure black except for the purple streak going through my bangs. I get out of the shower and head back to my room to get dressed after I blow dry my hair. I put on a pair of black skinny jeans, a black v neck shirt, and put my gloves back on, then head back to the bathroom. I look into the mirror and decide to put my hair into a ponytail leaving my bangs swept to the side. I walk back out to my bed room and grab my black metal framed glasses and slipping on my converse head downstairs.

"Happy Birthday Kassie!", every one yells making me flinch, "Thanks",I mutter under my breath. I head over to my mother and she looks at me smiling, "Kassie I know that since you've been little you have wanted to go on an adventure across all the different regions,and become the best you can be. Now that you are 16 I think the time has come for me to let you follow that dream", She says handing me a large box. I take the box over to the table and gently set it down wondering what is inside. I carefully open it and the first thing I see is a black pokeball, known as the Luxury Ball, I look back at her and she nods smiling. I go through the rest of the box and take out the black messenger bag, pokedex, and to my surprise 5 pokeballs along with 1,000 pokedollars. "The Pokemon has just hatched, but I wanted you to raise it and for y'all to become stronger together", She says and gives me a hug, I hug back."Thank you", I say tears threatening to spill from my very dark grey eyes. I put everything into the bag and head into my bedroom.

I sit down on my bed and very carefully take the Luxury Ball out of my bag, I press the small button in the middle and a small red beam of light comes out that soon turns into a Pokemon. I take out my pokedex and it reads " Absol, Dark type Pokemon, It senses disasters andappears only to warn people, but as result is seen as the doombringing Pokemon". " I think I'll call you Seriel, do youlike that name?", I ask looking at the Pokemon before me. Shejumps around in circles and comes over to sit by my feet. I gentlypet her head, then motion her to jump on the bed. She climbs on thebed and lays next to me, I can tell that this, is going to be thestart to the best days of my life.

I pack my bag with everything that I will need for my trip and place it on my dresser and fall asleep with Seriel curled up at the end of my bed. Tomorrow my journey starts, the journey to become a pokemon master.
