Laughter from So-Mi and her friends soon ceased as they witnessed the severity of the situation. Jung-Won went up to So-Mi and gave her a little shove.
"Why would you push her?!"
So-Mi didn't say word, she bit her lip nervously as Yoon-Seo panicked.
"She's not coming back up! Guys, do something!"
Luckily, Jun-hee arrived at the scene in time. He cursed under his breath before jumping in the water. Swimming through to reach Hana as her body float lifeless.
Time seemed to slow as he reached her struggling form beneath the surface. With a strong and determined effort, he pulled her to the surface, ensuring she gasped for the precious air she desperately needed.
Coughing and sputtering, Hana clung to him tightly.
"It's okay. I'm here."
He whispered.
The poolside atmosphere shifted from shock to relief as Jung-Won and Yoon-Seo gathered around, realizing the gravity of the situation.
They helped Jun-hee carry her as So-Mi and her friends stayed, though Na-Hee was the one most concerned.
"I think we took it too far. Will she ever forgive us?"
As Hana slowly regained consciousness, the pool seemed like a distant memory. A muffled voice filled her ears as her vision gradually cleared. She found herself laying in the infirmary.
Her throat felt raw from the water she had inhaled, and she coughed weakly, still disoriented.
"Hana..."
Jun-hee's voice was heard causing her head to turn to him. He smiled seeing her eyes open but not for long when she suddenly got up.
Jun-hee gently held her hand, his concern evident in his eyes.
"You're okay. Just take it easy."
He reassured her. The realization of what had happened started to sink in as the details of the near-drowning incident flashed through her mind.
Hana mustered a weak smile, grateful for Jun-hee's quick response.
She noticed that he was still soaked.
