Deku

I arrive at my Mom's room, and she's hooked up to IV's, a breathing tube, a heart monitor that was going steady

She's alive...

Relief washed through me, and I leaned against the wall sighing, and Recovery Girl walks in

"Your mother's a very brave and strong woman, but very lucky. That power All For One had for you was designed for you specifically. Your age, height, weight. If it would have hit you....you would have been dead where you stand." She says, and a chill went down my spine

I can't believe she jumped in front of me...

"But being your mother and you having her genetics, it still affected her a great deal. She is in a coma at the moment, but we believe she'll come out of it naturally." She assures me, and I sigh in relief

Thank god...

"Can I have a moment alone?" I ask her, and she nods and leaves the room

I pull up a chair next to the bed and sit down, grabbing her hand

"Hi Mama...why did you jump in front of me? I'm a hero it's my job to protect everyone... Now you're in this horrible state because of me..." I choke and hang my head down

I need to set this right...settle this mess...once and for all.

I stand up and kiss her head and walk out and see Rei bandaged up talking to Shouto

At least she's okay... she risked her life to save me also

"Rei..." I say, and she turns and suddenly wraps her arms around me

"You saved me, thank you." She whispers, and I hug back

"You saved me. If you didn't freeze that guy..." I start, and she shushes me

"You're my son in law. It's my job as your mother in law to protect you, my son, and grandbabies." She says, and I smile and look at Sho

"My Mom is in a coma," I whisper, and his face dropped and pulled me close

"I'm sorry, she's strong, though. She will be back before you know it." He says, and I nod and sigh

"Let's check on everyone and go in one of the safe houses. The school is destroyed so...we need to get things settled. Meet with everyone tomorrow and discuss what happened and make a plan. " I explain, and everyone agrees, and we split

"Are you sure you're physically okay? You don't need to stay at the hospital?" He asks, and I laugh softly

I love how he specifically says 'physically'.

"I'm fine. Sho, I just want to see our baby and go to bed." I state, and he looks at me and nods

"Just checking... I know this doesn't help... but I'm sorry about your Mom." He says, and I look down

"If something happened to me today... you would take care of my Mom, right?" I ask, and he looked offended

"Of course I would. Just like how you'd take of mine." He states, and I smile lightly

"I know, just asking." I ask, and he looks at me confused

"I haven't made you feel like I wouldn't, right?" He asks, grabbing both my hands

"No, no, no. I'm sorry, I just... I got very close to dying. Like, if my Mom didn't jump in, I'd be dead Shouto." I said, and he got this horrified look, then sighed
