Allison's POV:
I'm sitting in English class with Aria, Spencer, and Hanah when all the sudden the girl we saw this morning walks in and takes a seat beside Hanah. It was the only seat available but something about this girl unsettles me.

I look to my right and Spencer is just looking at me, we were both thinking the same thing I believe. "What are you thinking Spence?" I ask her in a low voice. "I'm not sure Ali but I feel darkness when I look at her" she says back to me before returning to her book.

Half way through the class im interrupted by Hanah's voice "Hi I'm Hanah, what's your name?" She asks the new girl sitting right beside me. She flashes that friendly wide smile she always has. 'God Hanah what are you doing' I think to myself. "Hey Hanah, I'm Emily" she says and smiles back but immediately goes back to her work.

This girl seems to not want to talk much, but Hanah being Hanah does not catch that vibe. She's so nice and friendly but I swear sometimes it's the death of her.

Emily's POV:
"So Emily where did you transfer here from? I saw you this morning that's a nice bike" I hear Hanah say from beside me. I really don't feel up to talking but I don't want to be a bitch so I reply "I transferred here from a school in Oregon, and thank you I appreciate it" I respond back.

The bell rings and I grab my stuff and head straight out the door avoiding the conversation I knew this girl would try to continue. As I walk down the hall I'm stopped by the principal "hello you must be Emily, I'm principal Hackett. I couldn't help but notice on your transcript that you swam for your old school and it seems like you were very good at it" he says with a smile "oh yeah, I love swimming I was actually going to ask about the team here. I would love to try out if I could" I say back trying to avoid eye contact. I've never been a fan of eye contact. "Absolutely Emily let's go speak to the coach" he says as he starts walking and I follow.

When we get to the locker room he introduces me to the coach and leaves. "Well Emily I'm looking at your records and I must say I would love to have you on our team" says the coach with a wide smile "wow okay perfect!" I say excited "when should I be here for practice?" I ask her "we have practice Monday Wednesday and Fridays from 4pm to 7pm how does that work for you?" She ask me and I let her know I'm available and I leave.

Wow I guess this first day wasn't too bad so far, I'm already on the swim team. 'Maybe I can make a life here' I think to myself.

When I arrive in my next class which is Art 101 I see Hanah and her group all sitting down at a circular table and of course the only seat available is at that table with them. I groan and walk over and sit down.

"Hey Emily" Hanah says with her big smile, it's quite beautiful I will say. "Hey Hanah" I smile back. "This is Spencer, Aria, and Allison" Hanah says pointing to each one of them "hey guys" I smile to them they all said a quick hey back and flashed smiles at me as the teacher started her lesson.

Allison's POV:
The teacher just announced our activity today is to sketch a portrait of someone important to us. I have no clue who to draw. Hell I can't even draw. I'm stuck.
"Who are y'all drawing?" I ask the girls "I'm gonna draw Caleb, or attempt to atleast I don't think it will go very smoothly" Hanah says laughing "I'm gonna draw Melissa, we've had our ups and downs but she's always done so much for me" says Spencer as she's already sketching away. "Honestly I have no clue, it's not like I can draw Ezra" says Aria sadly. "Emily what about you, who are you going to draw" I ask Emily as she has already started her outlines "I'm drawing my dad, he's in Afghanistan right now I miss him a lot" she said sadly "that's sweet Emily, I'm sorry he's so far" I say with a sad smile.

That must be that darkness Spencer mentioned. I'm sure she has a hard time with her dad being away so much. I can't imagine that. Although I don't have a close relationship with my dad I still would be sad if he was gone.

As the class goes by I look over and see Emily's paper it looks amazing. "Wow Em you really have a talent" I say just for her to hear. She smiles up at me and says a quick "thank you"

Maybe she's not so bad. Maybe she can be in our group but I still don't trust her yet. It will really take time for that I think to myself.
