I know this is just another letter you may never see
But I need you all to truly know how much you mean you me
I'm sorry for the part I played in causing all your fears
I'm sorry I can't be there always to wipe away your tears
I'm sorry for the way you've suffered, truly victimized
I'm sorry you had to see it all through a maze of lies
I'm sorry for adults who've failed you, to include myself
I'm sorry if you've ever felt I put your love up on the shelf
I'm sorry every time I tried to be the person you deserved
My voice got muted, my tongue cut out, I couldn't say a word
I'm sorry dears, for all the times anger got the best of me
But please believe, I love you three, and I'll love you 'til you can see
That you don't need to be the villain nor the victim in my story
That you're the heroes, all on your own, in all your gutsy glory
'Til then I'll keep on loving us, filling up our cups
With whispered prayers to God in Heaven, hoping it's enough...
