Underneath the stark white blanket, Alvia lay motionless, her eyes fixed on the ceiling as if lost in a trance. The weight of the world seemed to press down upon her, and even the shrill ringing of her phone failed to rouse her from her stupor.

The persistent ringing filled the room, reverberating off the thin walls of the dormitory. With each loud chime, Alvia's neighbor grew increasingly agitated, pounding on the shared wall in a futile attempt to silence the noise. But Alvia remained unmoved, her gaze unwavering, fixed on the blank expanse above her.

The noise escalated as the neighbor, Rena, stormed to Alvia's door, her frustration evident in the forceful knocks and irritated bangs. Yet Alvia remained undisturbed, her attention solely focused on the ceiling.

Across the hallway, Sora emerged from her room in a bright yellow sleepwear, her brow furrowed in concern. "Sora. Your classmate is driving me nuts," Rena exclaimed, her voice laced with irritation as she gestured towards Alvia's door.

Sora sighed, shaking her head at Rena's impatience. "She's your classmate too, Rena," she reminded her, a note of exasperation in her tone.

Inside her room, Alvia remained cocooned beneath the covers, oblivious to the commotion outside her door. Her mind drifted in a sea of thoughts, lost in the depths of her own turmoil.

Rena's furious banging echoed through the dormitory walls, causing Sora to flinch in surprise. She blinked, momentarily taken aback by Rena's outburst. "Rena-"

"I don't care if you see me as a part of your stupid class, but Alvia is a member of your stupid club, and you better take care of that stupid member," Rena snapped, her frustration palpable.

Sora struggled to find the right words, her brows furrowing in concern. "Come on, Rena. Are you mad we didn't select you-"

"Hey!" Rena's voice rose sharply, cutting off Sora's attempt at explanation. Her black nightwear seemed to flow with her rising irritation. "I am not interested in a club meant for dead people," she declared before storming off, leaving Sora standing in stunned silence.

As Rena disappeared down the corridor, Sora was left alone, her back turned to the open door of her dorm room. She glanced towards Alvia's door with a sense of unease gnawing at her. With a resigned sigh, she made her way towards Alvia's room, determination etched on her features.

"Alvia. Open up," Sora called, rapping her knuckles against the wooden door. Despite her efforts, there was no response from within, leaving Sora to ponder the silence that greeted her pleas.
