"I am sorry," I said as I sat back down, trying to pretend that I didn't know him.

"It's fine, but tell me what you're drawing I'm curious," he waved his hand in a bizarre motion that I didn't mind, "Is that Dan Heng?" My ears perked up.

"You play Honkai Star Rail?" I looked at his dark eyes, gleamed and sparkly. Full of anticipation that I could melt.

"Duh, I am the best player in school!" He playfully smirked, staring back, eye contact stronger than ever.

At that information, I scoffed.

"You are no better than me, trust," I grabbed my phone and swiftly tried to open the set of applications on it.

I motioned for him to come closer, to see.

"You main bronya? No way," his Australian accent stood out, "I couldn't even get any of my wishes on Silver Wolf..."

"What can I say," shrugging my shoulders in pride, remembering at the same time my favourite sentence.

"What can I say pookie?"

"What can I say pookie?"

We both looked at each other, in slight surprise.

"No way we just said the same sentence, at the same time—"

"Right?"  I snorted and chuckled while he was also laughing.

I added Jake Sim to my contact list, and he added me.

He probably has all types of girls on his contact list.

"Wanna play after exams?" he asked, still sitting next to me.

I looked back and forward from his eyes to his phone and murmured a small enthusiastic 'sure'.

While rearranging my school bag, my back facing Jake, I felt a slight tap on my shoulder.

"y/n?"

Does he know my name?

I turned around to look at him.

"It was fun talking to you, I mean it—"

He smiled, his eyes were like a divine soul, brighter than any star in the sky.

His smile was sincere.

My heart skipped a beat.

"It was great talking to you as well! I mean it." I smiled and waited for the bell to signal the beginning of the final exam.

"I have no one to play with when our exams finish, want to play Honkai?" he suddenly asked. I looked at him with slight surprise. I didn't know he was lonely, as he was popular.

Instinctively, I decided to ignore it I didn't want to dig further into his reasons.

"Why not, we would be stress-free then."
