I was lying on the bed. I understood what was happening to me. Even though Sam had to explain it to me several times, I get it now. I'm just not human, I'm not human. That's what was going through my head. Why me, I thought. I feel like a monster, but at the same time it has its advantages. Half wolf, half human, that's my destiny. Suddenly the phone rang next door. I could hear Billy approaching the phone and the way he hung up. "Who called?" I called from my room. "But no one "Billy said evasively. "Dad I know that tone, what's wrong?" I'd had enough of the dawdling and stood up. My legs were tingling and I had a cramp in one arm. I headed for the living room anyway. Billy sat at the coffee table with his phone, silent. "Come on dad talk" I said in a slightly annoyed tone. My whole body ached with anger. "Bella, Bella Swan" my dad said.Bella, so he's interested in me? My head was flying. I thought she wouldn't care. Is she calling about the bike? Or is it just me? I thought about it for a long time. I imagined her sitting sadly by the phone, her eyes reflecting something cold. What am I thinking, I wondered. But those eyes, I don't know. I sit in my chair and find I've been staring at the cobwebs in the corner for about five minutes.
