Sophia's pov

I had so much flashback in less than an hour. I looked at my blood filled hands and another tears dropped on it.

It was real, Jeremiah was shot. My brain could hardly process everything that was going on but I could tell that the only one I loved the most in the whole planet was shot right in my arms, right in front of me. My whole world is about to be turned over. My pride is about to be taken away from me.

"No, it can't be"

"No it can't be"

"He's fine"

"He's going to be fine, he can't leave me" I reassured myself since there's no one to do that for me at the moment

My little moment of breakdown was cut when a hand landed on my face hardly. It was Jeremiah's mother.

Her son looked so much like in facial aspect. He has her nose type, her hair colour, skin color including eye structure but her eyes are brown instead. She looked like she is in her 50s just like charles and Simi. One common thing about this three is, they all look like they are rocking their old age well.

"How could you! How could you take my only son away from him and almost get him killed" she said scremed down the whole hospital

Liam got in between us almost immediately, trying as much as possible to get her away from further physical assault.

After Liam was able to get her to stay a safe distance away from me, I stood up from where I was sitting and I spoke from annoyance and pain

"How and why would I have shot him? Uh? Why would I shot the only gift the Earth has given me? Uh? You have no idea what you're saying and at the same time have no right to physically abuse me, I'm not a child and I simply can't sit back and watch you treat me as you like" I said blurtly almost regretting my words

The woman stood with a very surprising look. I knew Jeremiah's mother never liked me, right from when she thought I seduced her son and keeping him from marrying Emily to when Jeremiah threatened to cut ties with her if she didn't support our relationship. She always thought I betrayed my family by being with jeremiah, I can tell.

"And I never took jeremiah away from you, he has feelings too, he just couldn't bare to see his mother treat the one he loves like that. He had to stop talking to you because of you, that's not my fault. You could have respected your son's decision and supported him as well. You have no idea how he felt" I finally added, and I could feel more tears running down my cheek. I felt relieved, a feeling I barely have, like a heavy weight was lifted off my weak shoulders. I should try this more often.

"I only wanted what's best for my son" she said and walked away and I could tell she was going to see the doctor.

"All this was too much for a day" I said to myself and another drama came in almost immediately

Emily, Charlotte, and Charles came running from no where towards where I was standing. Emily held my hands in tears

"Please tell me it's not true" she said squeezing my hands

"Please Emily it hurts"

"Does it? I'm sure Jeremiah is going through a much worse pain" she said lowly that only both of us could ear

"Stop it Emily" charles said in that voice I was craving to hear but couldn't for the past two years. Everyone of my family has stopped talking to me since the incident. The incident when they caught Jeremiah and I kiss and Emily somehow has framed and made them believe that I seduced Jeremiah. Simi and Francis were disappointed

"Sophia how could you?" Simi said through tears
"You shouldn't have sophia" charles said
"I honestly thought you were better than this, Jeremiah is getting married to Emily and you know it" Charles said
"Father I'm sorry but I can't keep living with her, you have to choose between us" Emily said with fake tears
"She betrayed this family" she added

"What happened" Charles asked Liam since I didn't look like I was in a good position to explain

"Sir was shot"he replied plainly

"How? By who?" He asked in returned and his question stuck me with shock. Why would anyone have shot him. Who would want him dead, why?. He was definitely the nice type to everyone. Or maybe, maybe I brought this until him. 'im sorry jer"

"I've have teams currently working on that and we will provide useful information soon" Liam said

Everyone was slient for a while and it seem like they were trying to digest Liam's words

"Where's Simi?" I asked cutting the silence and wanting to make sure she was fine even when I'm going through storm at the moment

"She doesn't want to see you because she knows you'd be here" Charlotte said

"That's not true, she's not in the city currently" charles said disagreeing

"You guys should be calm with sophia, she's grieving him too, we all are. That's just hope he's fine" he added

"Father why w.."Emily was cut when the doctor came towards us.
We all ran closer to him and awaiting the news

"You all are relatives of Mr Jeremiah right?" He asked

"Yes, and I am his fiancee and I brought him here" I said so fast before the doctor could even finish his sentence. I was so sure that Emily, Charlotte and Charles were so shocked about the news considering the way they looked at him.

"Okay, I'm sorry but the patient was shot in very vital parts and lost so much blood on your way to the hospital" his words were already twisting my stomach, and digging my grave. I could feel my heartbeat in my head

"What does that mean?"

"We tried our outmost best, but unfortunately we lost him" he finally said

The whole world slowly became blurry as a fell to the ground completely lossing my stand.

"Ma" Liam called

"Sophia" Charles called me, both rushing to my side as my eyes shut itself

My mansion has finally crumbled. My hope is finally lost. My happiness is finally gone. My thread is finally loosed. My cloth is finally torn and I'm naked to the universe. It's true, I can't be happy.
