Arabella Davies was a peculiar girl born into a family with one brother, a mother, and a father. Her mother, Laura Davies and her father Colin Davies weren't the richest, but worked hard so their children could have a good life. The two children, Arlo and Arabella were twins, and weren't very alike at all, though their physical appearance was astonishingly similar. The twins had been going to Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry for five years, now heading into their sixth year. With ten days left until school, the family set out to Diagon Alley to get supplies; their parents dropped them off and waited at a coffee shop down the street for them. Once through the Leaky Cauldron, Arabella and Arlo split up; Arlo going to his Gryffindor friends, and Arabella plugging in a set of earbuds as she made her way from Gringotts to Eeylops. After leaving Madam Malkin's she headed to Flourish and Blotts. After buying the schoolbooks required, Arabella walked swiftly to get a copy of The Daily Prophet to stay caught up on things in the wizarding world. Arlo wasted much of his money on food, and jokes from Weasley's. Arabella grew irritated by Arlo when he asked for a "few" sickles to buy his school things, though she obliged being the annoyingly responsible girl that she was.
Arabella's P.O.V
After buying all that I needed, I decided that it was essential for me to go to Weasley's and get the 10 second pimple remover. I put my music back on, while I went to pick up my robes from Madam Malkin's when I walked into someone. Landing on my butt, my school things fell everywhere and I look up to see who ran into me; who was no other than Alden Dolohov. He gave me hard stare then walked away, leaving me to pick up my things. His eyes were an intense shade of brown, and his hair slicked into a quiff with a cigarette tucked behind his ear. People always spread rumors about what happened to his father during the second wizarding war, and that he's following in his father's footsteps to take over the wizarding world. For a while everyone thought that things were going to be okay forever after the second wizarding war but there is always conflict with the pure blood families that believe that half bloods and muggle bloods are worthless. Alden's family was one of them.
Once I gathered my things, I texted Arlo saying that I'm going to get mum and dad and that he can meet us back at the coffee shop. On my way back over to the coffee shop, I get some weird stares from people on the street, which is completely expected with the things I'm carrying. I step into the coffee shop, then had my parents hand me the keys to put my things in the car. Once out on the street, I go to the car and put my things in it noticed a little record store across the street.
I locked the car and wandered over, a bell rang once I walked in the store. It was a small crammed shop but there were so many records to look at and they looked cheap so I started looking through. After a about ten minutes of looking I found about 6 records I wanted to get so I went to the counter to pay before I could find anymore. The cashier was an older man; I handed him my money and he put my records in a bag then handed me my change. I thanked him and walked out onto the wet street. Making my way to the coffee shop again, my parents joked about me getting side tracked and Arlo was back but was irritated to have left his friends.
The next few days were torture waiting to go to school. I luckily had my new records to listen to as I wasted away the days painting and sketching. I avoid packing until the night before, it's become a yearly thing that I do. Unfortunately, the night before becomes a mess of me throwing clothes in my suitcase.
The day Arlo and I leave has arrived and with all my clothes, sketchbook, paints, and school supplies packed we headed off to Kings Cross Station. The nerves always hit me when it's time to get into the platform, there's always this bit of doubt that I won't be able to get through, or that Arlo and I have missed the train. We run through and make it on the train safely. I get in an empty compartment, waiting for Teddy to get on, in the mean time, I'll just listen to music.
My earbuds are in and my music is turned up all the way but I hear the compartment door slide open which brings me to look up and see that it isn't Teddy standing there but Alden. He looks at me realizing that the compartment isn't empty. He stares at me then mumbles something about "rather sharing a compartment with a Hufflepuff than a mud blood." as he slams the door shut. Feeling anger rise in my chest, I take a deep breath feeling my head start to pound from the anger I was feeling. My throat started to burn and I cleared it hoping for once I wouldn't cry hearing someone call me that. I zip up my sweatshirt up and pull my hood up and turn to the window, my eyes start tearing. Just as the first tear starts to fall I hear the door open again. I wipe the tear away and see Teddy standing there. He shuts the door and comes and flops down across from me. His blue hair spiked up in the front and a smile across his face.
"Victorie is the hottest girl ever I swear."
"You're in love Teddy, how sweet." He looked over at and threw a chocolate frog box at me.
"Why're you crying?"
"It's nothing, just Dolohov. It's the usual, I get so annoyed at myself for crying; I don't even know why I care."
"That bastard. I'll kill him one day I swear."
"Can we just drop it? I don't want to start the year off like this."
"Well fine only because you said so."
"Good." I leaned on the window and closed my eyes letting the music play in my head the rest of the ride to Hogwarts.
