Jung-Hoon arrived at Jaewan's apartment and knocked loudly on the door. He knew Jaewan likely wouldn't want to see him considering his debt and lack of payments, so he was prepared for a fight.
A few moments later, Jaewan opened the door and sighed upon seeing who was there.Jung-Hoon's gaze was steady and firm, his expression serious as he tried to gauge Jaewan's mood. He took in Jaewan's disheveled look, the dark circles under his eyes and the worn-out look of his clothes. Something about Jaewan seemed off, and it worried him.
He couldn't help but feel a hint of anger and annoyance at the sight of the mess of a man standing in the doorway, yet there was also pity mixed into the emotion. Jung-Hoon cleared his throat, trying to sound more stern than he felt.
"Why have you been missing your payments?" He asked, though as soon as he spoke he realized how dumb the question sounded.
Jaewan obviously wasn't paying for a reason, and Jung-Hoon was well aware of that possibility.
Jaewan just shrugged, his tone careless yet lacking in that usual spark of arrogance that always accompanied his demeanor. His indifference only fueled Jung-Hoon's frustration higher.
Jung-Hoon was seething at this point, both his irritation and concern for Jaewan's well-being boiling over.
"Damn it, there's obviously something wrong," He snapped, his voice loud and harsh. "What's going on in that pretty little head of yours? What's happened?"
Jaewan stayed silent as if waiting for the storm to pass, but it just wasn't happening with Jung-Hoon. He knew Jaewan was hiding something, and he wasn't going to let him off the hook so easily.
Jung-Hoon's fury reaches a boiling point and he grabs Jaewan's collar, forcing him to look him in the eyes.
"What the hell is going on with you?"
Jaewan remains silent, but a tear slips down his cheek as Jung-Hoon looks into his glassy green eyes.
At this point, Jaewan is overwhelmed with emotions and Jung-Hoon realizes there's a much deeper issue at play.
Jung-Hoon's anger turns to compassion as he realizes that Jaewan isn't just a lazy deadbeat.
Jung-Hoon releases Jaewan and wraps his arms around him, pulling him into a tight hug.
"I'm so sorry I got so upset," Jung-Hoon apologizes. "It's clear that there's something you're dealing with, and you were afraid to tell me."
Jaewan nods and wipes away his tears, and then he pulls away from the hug and glances around.
"Let's talk about this somewhere private," Jaewan whispers, and Jung-Hoon nods.
The two head off to a nearby coffee shop where they can talk privately. Jaewan starts to open up about what's been troubling him, and Jung-Hoon is filled with a new level of understanding and love as he listens.
Jaewan was crying not just because he missed the loan payments, but because he felt hopeless and alone. He was struggling financially and it was weighing heavily on him. He also felt like a failure and was afraid of what others would think of him.
He was afraid to tell Jung-Hoon about his struggles, which is why he kept avoiding him. He thought Jung-Hoon would be disappointed or angry with him for missing payments, and he didn't want to face that.
Jaewan is relieved to have someone he can talk to without fear of judgment or ridicule, especially the person is Jung-Hoon. As the conversation goes on, Jaewan's fears and worries start to fade away.
Jung-Hoon and Jaewan sit at a corner table in the coffee shop, feeling a bit lighter after the long conversation. They are both smiling and looking forward to the future with a renewed sense of hope.
But suddenly, their peace is disturbed by a loud crashing sound. They both look up to see what caused it, and their smiles disappear as they see a group of rough-looking men entering the shop.
"Looks like we've got some trouble," Jung-Hoon mutters, as he stands up from his chair.
Jaewan slowly stands up as well, an anxious and worried look on his face.
"This can't be good," he mutters, and he quickly glances around the shop to see if anyone else is paying attention to the strange group of men.
Jung-Hoon glances at Jaewan, his expression suddenly turning from one of confidence to one of uncertainty. He looks back at the new arrivals, his heart sinking as he realizes they are bad news.
