"Are we there yet?" Davina whined exasperated as she keeps limping.

"Yup." Harriet beamed as she quickly made her way through the trees and leaves.

Davina exhaled a sigh of relief. "Tell me again why we couldn't just stay at the library?"

"Because, this is our last day of becoming partners. Tomorrow's friday, where we have to turn in our project. I just wanted to make it special since because of it, we became friends!" She grinned and took Davina's hand in hers to pull her closer as they took a turn before arriving at their location.

The path led them to a large, tranquil pond. Encircled by a ring of rocks, it seemed a masterpiece crafted by the hands of time itself, as lush foliage enveloped the scene. It was a place that seemed frozen in time, inviting anyone who stood there to linger and revel in the beauty of the moment.

At a loss for words, Davina stood there still. Taking in the captivating scene before her. "This is... Beautiful."

Harriet's grin grew wider as she heard Davina's mumblings. "It is, isn't it? That's why I wanted to take you here. Not many people know of this place. So it's been like my own personal sanctuary. And now you're here, too." She smiled as she turned to look at Davina with a small blush on her cheeks.

"This is.. This is way too special to be shown to someone like me. I'm not worthy!" Davina exclaimed, looking at her with a beguiled expression.

"I like to think you're worth more." Harriet teased.

Those words alone were enough to turn Davina into a flustered mess. Her face flushed bright red as she turned away. How could Harriet say that with a straight face? She doesn't know how strong it's potency were to Davina. "A-anyway, let's find a place to sit, yeah?"

Harriet giggled. "No need." She said as she took out a blanket from her basket. So that's what it was for. Davina was confused as to why she had brought it earlier.

With a graceful sweep, Harriet spread the blanket on a patch of grass near the water's edge. As she settled down, she patted the space beside her, inviting Davina to join. With a hint of hesitation, Davina eased herself onto the blanket, trying to mask her jittery nerves.

The tranquility of the pond enveloped them, the soft sounds of nature a symphony in the background. Davina stole glances at Harriet, admiring how the sunlight played with her hair, casting a radiant halo around her.

"Hey, Harriet? Why did you invite me to this place? I mean, I love it. But this is really just so special." Davina blurted out, breaking the peaceful silence.

Harriet turned to face her, her expression one of genuine warmth. "I guess, because you deserve it."

"Shut up. I don't deserve the beauty of this place," Davina deflected, fidgeting with a loose thread on her shirt.

"But you do," Harriet insisted, her eyes earnest. "You don't know it, but there's just something about you that's different from others. The more time we spend together, the more I want to know more about you."

Davina's cheeks flushed once more at the compliment. She struggled to find the right words to respond but was interrupted by Harriet's sudden laughter.

"You know, I've always noticed it but your face turns so red when you're embarrassed. It's adorable," Harriet teased, playfully nudging Davina's arm.

Davina felt the heat in her cheeks intensify. "Stop it," she mumbled, trying to suppress a smile while Harriet giggled. "You don't mean that."

"I do, actually. I really, really like being your friend." Harriet insisted, as she leaned closer with an unbreakable expression. Davina just let the smile formed on her face at that point.
