"Lemington, Evelyn." Professor McGonagall spoke clearly. It was my turn.
I breathed deeply to relieve my anxiety, even though the sorting was just a trivial thing, I still felt anxious.
This is it. This is the moment that i'm going to get sorted. The house i'm going to get sorted is not going to be that bad, isn't? I thought to myself as i began to walk to the stool in front of the whole school.
I sat on the bench and i was still breathing deeply. The hat was put on my head
"Hm, what do we have here?" The sorting hat spoke. I was surprised because the hat suddenly spoke, i didn't expect the hat to speak.
"Ah yes... A love for knowledge, witty... Very idealistic and seemingly absent minded..."
"Where should i put you? Hm, better be..."
"Ravenclaw!!" the hat shouted.
A huge applause came from a table full of students wearing black and dark blue robes. I suppose that's where i belong. I went to the tabel and shook my hand with people that offered their hand to me.
"Hello there i'm Cho, welcome to Ravenclaw." A student with long black hair and with black eyes spoke to me. I think to believe that she's Asian. "Thank you." (a/n : let's be real here, i actually don't like the way that J.K named her because of how stereotypical her name is but i love cho and i want to cho to be in this fanfic so bad and also cho slander will not be accepted here!!).
"Walker, Willow." Professor McGonagall announced.
Willow walked to the stool slowly and i can see that her legs are shaking. I have a feeling that she has the same anxiety as i had earlier.
As she sat on the stool, her face was way calmer now. I hope she's in the same house as me i thought to myself again.
"Hufflepuff!!" The hat shouted. The Hufflepuff table starting an applause to welcome Willow into their house. As far as i know, Hufflepuff students are loyal, kind, hardworking, loving, and friendly.
"Lemington, Matthew." It was my brothers turn. I honestly doubt he would be in Ravenclaw, because of how he always makes trouble back at home. And how he never think before he acts. It made me remember that one time when he ate my cookies that were fresh from the oven that i made specifically for mother's birthday. He didn't even ask whether he could eat it or not. His tongue got burned after eating the cookies. Definitely in Gryffindor i thought.
"Gryffindor!!"
Ah yes, just as i expected
I congratulated my brother as he was walking to his houses table.

The Ravenclaw common room is beautiful. The room is decorated with white marble decor, dark blue curtains, and a ceiling decorated with a night sky full of stars, it even has the constellations correctly. The room was wide, full of arched windows. My mother always says that this was a perfect room to study in.
"Boys dormitories on the left, Girls on the right. Don't worry about your stuff, you'll find them in your dorm room." The ravenclaw house prefect announced.
"Oh, i forgot to mention. That you're all going to have your own roommates in your dorm rooms."
Everyone was rushing into their dorm rooms. I had a difficult time getting into my room, because of the amount of people pushing anyone that gets in their way. I needed to pass a few doors to get in to my dorm room. As i walked in, there was already three girls in the room. One is looking at the window, while the other two are talking to each other or should i say gossiping on a bed.
The one girl that was looking out at the window noticed me walking in, she has brown hair and gray eyes. She walked from the window and was walking to me. "Hi!" she greeted me.
"i'm Catherine Barlowe, and you are?"
"Evelyn Lemington, my friends usually call me 'Eve' or 'Lyn'."
"Oh so i'm a friend of yours now, eh?" She teased. "Well if you want to of course." i answered. "Of course i want to!"
"Well it's a pleasure to meet you Eve." she smiled.
The other two girls kept on chatting, they don't seem to bother about me being here. They didn't even bat an eye when i walked in.
"Ekhem." Catherine cleared her throat to signal the other two girls. They both walked away from the bed and walked towards me and Catherine.
"Oh yes sorry" the girl with the blond hair, bright blue eyes apologies. "My name's Marilyn Turner, and this my beloved friend here is Lilith Campbell." She pointed to her friend who has dark black hair and dark brown eyes, with sun tanned skin.
"And welcome to our new dorm room!" they both shouted.
"Are we going to be the only ones here?" i asked. "Well there are still two empty beds left, so no." Catherine answered.
"I dibs on the one bed next to the window" Catherine spoke. "I'll take the one right next to the door." i stated.
A few moments later two girls were standing right next to the door while i was chatting with Catherine. "I bet we are late are we?" Said one of the girls with ginger red hair.
"Correct ma'am you're late." Lilith joked and she let out a little laugh.
"Well see, my friend here was dying to go to the bathroom while we were all walking to the common room, i accompanied her of course. And when we got out of the bathroom we got lost and we've been asking directions to ghosts and the paintings." the other girl with brown hair explained.
"And we forgot to introduce ourselves, i'm Harriette Dawson." said the brown hair girl.
"I'm Annalise Lambert." the ginger haired girl explained.
"How did you guys get in? You know you have to solve a riddle to get into the common room, right?" Marilyn asked. "Oh, you think we got into ravenclaw because of nothing?" said Annalise.
"Just kidding, i'm the one who got the wrong answer for the riddle that damned eagle door knocker asked, she got it right." she pointed to her friend beside her.
"What class you all have first tomorrow?" i asked. "I have potions!" Lilith responded. "Me too!" me, Marilyn, and Annalise exclaimed.
"We got charms." said Harriette and Catherine. "Good luck with potions tomorrow, i heard Professor Snape's a tough grader." Harriette spoke.
"Well we'll see about that."

finally me updating a chapter 😭, i can't wait to write a chapter about how evelyn and neville are going to meet but we'll get there
