Chapter 2:it's Just coffee

Savannah and I were now arriving at the apartment,we had gone to buy groceries.We reach at our apartment floor and get in the apartment room,I then get surprised by what I see,the living room was a mess there was popcorn all over the couch and soda cans on the floor.What the fuck happened,then Diego and his two friends,Tony and Chris come out of the kitchen laughing to whatever they were talking about. "You guys...what the fuck happened here?!"Savannah asks her eyes wide "Well,since the three of us all got suspended,we decided to have some fun."Says Diego as he sits on the couch and leans back,his hands at the back of his head. "Having fun?!...you've made a total mess here"I angrily say "wow,calm down girl....we'll clean this up"says Tony in a cool tone. "Really...you guys will actually clean this up?"Savannah asks just to be sure " Yeah,no need to worry."Says Diego. "Okay...good it's a good thing that..." Chris then cuts me off,"Sike"says Chris then starts laughing,Diego and Tony laugh too. "You actually thought that we were gonna clean that up?"Says Diego as he keeps on laughing,Savannah just storms off to the kitchen to unpack the groceries I dismind the boys cause this is not the first time.So I go to the kitchen and help Savannah with the groceries.After some time the boys leave,Savannah and I decide to clean up the living room,it takes a very short time till we're done. "Fuck!"Savannah curses "what's wrong?"I ask in concern "the boys spilled soda on the carpet."Says Savannah "Don't worry we'll take it to dry cleaners"I say. "I can't go,I have to get to work on my laptop"she says "I'll go....just get to work and I'll leave in a few minutes to take the carpet to the dry cleaners"I say,willing to help. "Really...are you sure?"she asks to be sure and I nod then a smile appears on her face and she hugs me "what would I do without you."She happily says.So I help her lift the coffee table and we remove the carpet and fold it into a roll and perfectly fold the rolled carpet (its not that big)

I put it in a bag.

After a little while
"So do you need me to get you something while am gone"I ask Savannah as I pick up the bag to leave. "Oh,yeah...can you help me pick up a cake at that bakery that's next to the jewelry store?"she says as she types stuff on her laptop."Cake,...What for?"I ask,being a bit confused. "Don't you remember....today is Shawn's birthday ."Says Savannah,
Shawn is actually our closest friend,well him and Savannah have been friends for quite a long time,it's always funny when Shawn pisses off Savannah,it usually happens every time when they meet,but its always cute I sometimes assume they like each other but non of them wants to open up their feelings or maybe its just me jumping to conclusions.
"Oh...fuck,I can't believe I almost forgot that,I didn't even get him anything"I blame myself "don't blame yourself dear,you've been so busy"Says Savannah,cheering me up. "Now go....or you'll be late for the party."She says,making me chuckle then I leave.
So i go straight to the subway station,my first stop was the dry cleaning place,I leave the carpet there they told me to pick it up tomorrow so after that I walk to the bakery which was blocks away from the dry cleaning place.So I open the door to get in and go direct to the counter."Hi...I'm here to pick up a cake."I politely say "Name please"Says the attendant "Oh,Savannah Mcmiller"I say with a slight smile he then checks the name on the clipboard "ah yes...birthday cake right."He asks,to be sure I nod "Please wait miss...I'll be right back with your cake."he says politely and goes to the back after a few seconds he comes back carrying a white box,he keeps it on the counter and opens the box for me to check "wow,its beautiful."I say with a smile,it was decorated very nicely and had the words 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHAWN' the attendant gives out a small chuckle as he closes the box I take the box as I thank him and leave.There was a small cafe next to the bakery so I go and buy one cup of coffee.
"Finally,now I'm done with everything."I say,relieved so I start walking past the expensive cars that are parked in front of the buildings.My phone starts ringing,I had a to-go cup of coffee on my right hand and the box of cake carefully held by my left arm,against my waist so I put the coffee on top of the box as I hold the box against my stomach now and take my phone from the back pocket of my jeans to see who was calling so I can either pick up or ignore.It was Savannah,anyways as I was just about to swipe right to pick up I bump into someone and my cup of coffee falls off from the box and my phone falls on the ground,first thing that I worry about is the cake so I quickly open the box to check if the cake is okay "Oh...thank God"I say in relief after seeing that the cake is okay,I then close the box and pick up my phone.While picking up my phone from the ground I see the cup of coffee next to a pair of very expensive Santoni shoes,I then look up and meet face to face with a tall man in a black suit looking at me,I then realize the mess on his coat caused by the spilled coffee.The man looks at me with no expression on his face.He then clears his throat "That cake is really important,isn't it?"He says with a smirk
"I..i'm so sorry sir"I say in concern I then step aside to leave but he blocks me "Where do you think you're going?"He asks "You ruined my coat"He adds in a calm tone. "I know sir but it's just coffee,it can easily get washed off"I say as I try to leave but he blocks me again,I sigh "Uh....sir,you're gonna make me late"I say politely "Well,you've ruined my coat and now I can't go to the meeting that I was rushing to."He says in a very calm tone,I chuckle "that's why I've apologized."I answer him "An apology cannot get me a new suit,can it?"He tells me,like I was some kind of kid.Wait,he wants me to pay him?Like what the fuck?!I try to leave to avoid commotion but he blocks me again I then get angry. "What the fuck man,so you want me to pay you for spilling coffee on your coat?"I say,completely pissed off "I don't have that kind of money"I tell him,he then gives out a small chuckle "Well you could've thought of that before you spilled your coffee on my coat."He calmly says with a smirk "first of all...it was an accident and if you're rich enough to buy this expensive suit,why don't you replace it with another one?"I say,still pissed off.Now I'm just spitting bullshit "I don't pay for others' mistakes"he says with a smirk.My phone then starts ringing and I sigh,I take a dime from my pocket "Here,why don't you pay a visit to the laundry mat."I say with a fake smile and surprisingly he takes the dime,so I turn around and leave him standing there."What a jerk."I mutter
Anyways I go back home as fast as I can

***Home***
"What took you so long?"asks Savannah as she panics,She was already dressed well for the party."Sorry,I came across with a stuck-up bitch."I say then sigh "Anyways here's the cake."I say putting the box on the coffee table. "Uh...what did I miss?"Savannah asks being curious "Never mind that just go with the cake or you'll be late,I'll come later before the party starts."I say,changing the subject,she disminds that I've changed the subject and takes the cake"don't be late."She tells me,receiving a nod as my response and leaves.So I go to my room to get myself ready,I take a shower after that I dry myself up and get dressed.I wear a white tanked crop top,black crazy jeans and white sneakers I then put on my denim jacket and tie my dreads into a messy bun.I take my phone and rush to Shawn's place.10 minutes later I arrive at Shawn's place,the party had already started so I get in the house,it was just a small party.I then see Shawn by the kitchen door talking to someone I go to him and he sees me approaching "Hey Becca."he happily greets "Hey,happy birthday."I happily wish him and he thanks me "Have you tasted the cake it's...."He sees Savannah approaching "the worst cake I've ever tasted....don't even go near it,trust me you'll get sick."He says,trying to piss off Savannah I then chuckle "thanks for the warning Shawn."I say,knowing that he's joking "you're welcome Shawn."Savannah sarcastically tells Shawn "Oh I'm sorry I didn't get you anything for your birthday."I say as I regret "No problem Becca,your friendship is already a gift to me."He says,I smile he then turns to Savannah with a raised eyebrow. "Why are you looking at me like that."Asks Savannah "What did you get me for my birthday?"Shawn asks her "Oh so my friendship is not a gift enough for you?"Savannah says with a smile cause she knows he's kidding "Not even a little bit."Shawn answers "Seriously,we've been friends for 7 damn years and that's not enough."Says Savannah as she chuckles "Yeah,cause they were the worst 7 years of my life."Shawn jokingly says,I just stand there and watch them argue like little kids "OK...uhm I brought you a cake,how about that?"Says Savannah "The cake tastes bad."Says Shawn "OK then...in that case I'm taking the cake and I'm leaving."Savannah says as she turns but Shawn pulls her to turn back "Hey"She whines "Stop whinning like a baby and let's go get drunk....c'mon"He says as he also grabs my hand and leads us to the kitchen counter where there are a lot of drinks.
