(Y/N = Your name)

It was the year after the battle of Hogwarts, and the new headmistress, Minerva McGonagall, decided that the students who were attending their seventh year during the battle should return for an eighth year to catch up on any lessons missed from the distraction of Voldemort's return and the war.

Therefore, I was on the Hogwarts Express, waiting for my friends to join me in the compartment in the back of the train that we always sat in on the way to Hogwarts.

"Y/N! How was your summer?"

I looked up to see my best friend, Pansy Parkinson enter the corridor.

"Pansy!" I exclaimed, standing up to hug her.

Three Mississsippis later, I sat back down and Pansy sat across from me.

"So? How was your summer?" Pansy asked, grinning.

I smiled. "Terrible, yours?"

Pansy frowned. "I'm sorry to hear that. What happened?"

I shrugged. "Oh, the norm, my parents forced me to get married to some guy I've literally never spoken to in my life." I said quickly. "How was your summer?"

Pansy gaped at me. "Wow. . . You're kidding, right?" I shook my head.

"Wow, you're not kidding. Omg, who? Congratulations! My summer was kind of boring, but we did go to some muggle amusement park for some reason." Pansy rambled.

"Ah, sounds fun." I smiled slightly. At that moment, Draco Malfoy entered the corridor, sitting beside me.

"Hey, Draco. How was your summer?" I asked calmly.

He turned to face me. "Hi. It was fine. Nothing special. And yours?"

I grinned. "Terrible. Pansy, tell him how your summer was."

Pansy nodded. "My summer was kind of boring, but we went to a muggle amusement park, and that was sort of fun."

Draco frowned. "Why a muggle park? And, Y/N, why was your summer terrible?"

"I have no idea whatsoever." Pansy replied immediately.

"My parents decided to marry me off without my consult." I shrugged. "Just the norm."

Draco frowned. "In what universe are arranged marriages the norm? In modern times."

"That was sarcasm, Draco." I said dryly, to which he ignored me.

Pansy looked at me intently. "To whom are you married, assuming that the ceremony has already taken place?" she inquired.

I frowned. "It has, seeing as my parents wanted me married when school ended, and they didn't know of the fact that there's going to be an extra year for seventh years." I explained.

"Ah, I see. But, still. There's a question you've been avoiding: Who is he?" Pansy asked intently.

I sighed, seeing no way to get out of answering the question this time. "I-Um. . . Neville Longbottom." I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

Draco cringed. "Longbottom? Why would your parents want you to marry him?"

I shook my head. "Because he's a pure-blood."

"So? There are plenty more pure-bloods out there who are more suitable." he argued.

"Because his grandmother was the only one to agree to an arranged marriage." I replied evenly. "I guess she had little faith in him finding a girl."

"And I see why. Without an arranged marriage, the Longbottom family would've come to an abrupt end. Not that that'd be a bad thing." Draco scoffed.

Pansy nodded.

"Guys, as much as I agree, I am part of that family now, so I'd appreciate it if you'd stop insulting it." I requested.

Draco nodded.

Pansy smiled. "YN Longbottom."

Sorry that this was so short. I'll try to make the chapters longer in the future. :)
