THE NEXT DAY, 
I grabbed my journal and my school supplies to get ready for class, we were in biology.

I sat in the back of the class away from everyone, I waved at Carmen who entered late but she ignored me.

"Looks like she doesn't want to talk to you." Malachi snickered

"I didn't even do anything." I sighed

"All you're friends are crybabies," Mak said

The bell rang and I hurried out of my seat as I saw Carmen walking out the door. "Carmen!" I yelled before she could get farther.

"Yes?"

"I waved at you, are you okay?"

"I just felt like what you did yesterday was unnecessary and childish." She stated

I stared at her in disbelief, "she was being rude first?"

"No she wasn't- I think you were being too sensitive,"

I stared at her in silence, not knowing what to say.

"Look I'm not mad at you, I'm just distancing myself- I hope that's okay?"

"Of course." I sighed

Maybe I was being too sensitive. 

I turned my head to see Sophie talking to Brian and Amy, the popular kids here.

Maybe I should go apologize.

I hunched my bookbag over my shoulder and began walking towards the group that was laughing, their eyes were on me as I got closer.

"Look who's here," Sophie spoke

"Hi guys- uh Brian, how are you?" 

"I'm doing good."

"Anyways Sophie I need to talk to you, in private." I eyed the girl who was crossing their arms in annoyance.

"No."

"Please."

She rolled her eyes "Fine."

Sophie followed me towards another set of lockers, "So I felt bad that I was calling you out your name and I want to apologize."

"Go on."

"And that- you're not a spoiled princess."

"Hm."

"Sorry."

"That apology didn't change anything anyway, I don't really care about what you call me. I'm a self-aware queen." She crossed her arms

"Are we done?" She asked

I walked away without saying anything else to her, she was really asking for it and it was hard to be nice.
