Backstory: Before ever meeting any of the 118, she was at a different station in New York City. She didn't have a good upbringing, being the only girl in a family where her mother was going "places," and her father wasn't really there. She looked to her brothers for support, but none helped her except her older brother Arlo. Arlo was a first responder who trained her a bit but due to some personal experience he had as a first responder though some stuff came up for Arlo which led to Matilda studying as hard as she could to be a first responder. In her senior year, she met a guy named Orson Valey. He was a jock who was more so like the kinder ones. Matilda and him got to know each other and eventually became friends. In her last year of college, after graduating, they began to date and then eventually got married. Their marriage was great, even settling in and having a little girl named Bella. However, a few years later, Bella was killed when Matilda was trying to save people from a burning casino, she found out that Orson killed Bella and caused the fire, Matilda snapped as she screamed at Orson, telling him over and over that he's a monster. Matilda quit her job at the station in New York and left the state. She traveled from state to state, and it wasn't enough for her. Eventually, she left for LA, which was the best decision yet. She later joined Station 118 in 2004.
