On Shipper Island, there was a beach. On the beach, there was a lighthouse.
The Lonesome Lighthouse.
Its job was to guide the ships to meet with their friends on the island.
Her birthday was seven days away, and the ships asked her what she wanted for her birthday. The Lonesome Lighthouse wished for a friend.
The ships in the island say that they are there to be her friends. But the Lonesome Lighthouse say that they come and go.
No one ever stays.
One day, The Lonesome Lighthouse was just doing what she always did, guiding ships to their friends on the island.
But one boat sailed up to her and introduced himself. "Hi, I'm Buddy the Boat". He asked if she wanted to go on an adventure with him.
The Lonesome Lighthouse said she shouldn't do that, because what would happen to all the other ships?
The boat asked, don't you want to see the world with a friend?
"A friend?" said the Lonesome Lighthouse. The Lonesome Lighthouse got on Buddy the Boat's back and they went all over the world.
They went to Paris, France to say "bonjour!" to the Eiffel Tower.
They went to Cairo, Egypt to say "Assalamualaikum" to the Pyramids.
They went to Sydney, Australia to say "g'day!" to the Opera House.
The Lonesome Lighthouse was having the time of her life. She was happy that she got to see the world, but she was the happiest about having a friend by her side. But the Lonesome Lighthouse was starting to get worried about the ships on the island.
How were they doing without their lighthouse?
She brought these concerns up to Buddy the Boat.
"There's no need to worry about them. I'm sure they already have already replaced you with another lighthouse!"
This thought made the Lonesome Lighthouse sad. The Lonesome Lighthouse urged Buddy the Boat to take her back to Shipper Island.
But Buddy the Boat didn't want to. He still wanted to travel the world. There was still so much to see!
No matter how much The Lonesome Lighthouse urged him, Buddy the Boat still did not want to go back to Shipper Island.
Buddy the Boat dropped The Lonesome Lighthouse off at a dock nearby. And there the Lonesome Lighthouse felt more and more lonesome.
Her only friend had left her. The boats here seem very different from the boats back home too. While the Lonesome Lighthouse was crying, a giant whale swims along and asks her what's the matter.
The Lonesome Lighthouse says she wants to go back home, to Shipper Island.
The whale says that she is going that way, so the Lonesome Lighthouse can hop on her back and tag along.
The Lonesome Lighthouse is overjoyed and gets on the whale's back as they journey back to Shipper Island. When the Lonesome Lighthouse and the whale arrive near Shipper Island, the Lonesome Lighthouse notices that in her place, another lighthouse is in her place.
This makes the Lonesome Lighthouse super sad. The whale says that she needs to get going on her way to Whaler's Nest.
Lonesome Lighthouse asks the whale to just drop her there in the middle of the ocean.
The whale asks if that's okay? Will she be able to breathe? The Lonesome Lighthouse assures her that she is a Lighthouse, and that they do not need air to breathe.
The Lonesome Lighthouse drops to the bottom of the ocean. At the bottom of the ocean, two anchors hook themselves to the Lonesome Lighthouse and the Lonesome Lighthouse is brought back to Shipper Island.
Turns out two of the ships there helped to return the Lonesome Lighthouse to her original place, beside the new Lighthouse.
The ships of Shipper Island explain that they had the new lighthouse built as a birthday present, so that the Lonesome Lighthouse would have a friend.
The Lonesome Lighthouse was so embarrassed to have assumed the worst of her ship friends.
After that, the Lonesome Lighthouse was not so Lonesome anymore.
