Chapter Six: Am I Selfish?

Is it too much to love me back? Am I being selfish? Is 15 years worth of trying just a waste of time? Am I not enough? Am I a person who just wants to get whatever they want? Is it right to blame it on love? Isn't this how love is suppose to be? I don't get it...

As I was in deep thoughts, I was snapped out of it by Mrs. Sim. "It's time for your next performance Hye Won." "O-Oh..okay." I went up to the stage and got ready. "Annyeonghaseyo, right now, you'll be introduced to my next performance which will be singing. I'll be singing "Glimpse of us by Joji" that is very emotional and is about a person who has a different perspective of their lover with someone else." I took a deep breath and began singing. As I was singing, light sobs were heard throughout the room and people were very immersed in the performance. When I looked around I saw him watching my performance....I'm so happy...but why doesn't it feel like it? Soon after the song ended, everyone cheered loudly for me like there was no tomorrow and I started seeing flowers being tossed onto the stage. I didn't realise that they had enjoyed the performances I did tonight. When I walked towards the beverage table with Yu Jin and Won Young, I accidentally bumped into someone when I slightly tripped on my dress causing that person to spill their drink onto me staining the dress. "Oh I'm sorry Hye Won! Your dress is dirty now..." "It's fine..." "Are you okay? Do you need help?" "What's going on here Byeol?" "It's nothing Jong Seong ah, I just accidentally spilled my drink on Hye Won." "It's fine, she can go change. Hurry up before more people become distracted." I was staring at him nothing knowing what he said just now. He looked at me with an annoyed expression and walked away with Byeol. "Why's he so rude? Geez, could've asked if you were okay." "It's fine Won Young, I should probably change now." "I can't believe this happened. You chose this specific dress to catch his attention!" "Well...this dress wasn't actually the one I wanted the most." "What do you mean?" "I have another dress which is the one I specifically chose to impress him, it's in my changing room..." They looked at me dumbfounded "Why do you have this dress on then?" "Because I knew that I was gonna have an accident." "Oh okay then, let's get your changed." When Yu Jin and Won Young saw my dress they squealed loudly. "IT LOOKS BEAUTIFUL!" "YOU'RE GONNA LOOK ETHEREAL HYE WON!" "Okay okay I get it Yu Jin, but calm down...you're gonna attract attention from outside." "Oh sorry..." I took off the dirty dress and put on the one that made my heart burst.

"You look ETHEREAL right now Hye!" "Thank you Wony, I appreciate it." Yu Jin and Won Young wnt behind me and fixed the parts where it didn't look nice and helped me zip the dress up. We then headed out and when I stepped out of the room every single eye was on us but more specifically on me.

"Did she get even prettier?"

"I would marry her if I was her age."

"Jay really should marry her instead of that girl."

"She's such an attention seeker."

"Just because you grow up with handsome boys doesn't mean you have captured their heart."

My heart started breaking as I kept hearing those comments.

But suddenly...

"Kang Hye Won"

I turned around and saw Park Jay standing in front of me. "Y-Yes?" "Go get your friends and meet me and my friends in the balcony. Don't waste our time." "O-Okay"
