Fire, a burning death that was so slow you would feel every pinch of heat on your skin until you died. This was Mary-Anne's fear as Kassie set the carriage and their outfits on fire. Everything immediately went up in flames and Mary-Anne knew that if one little thing went wrong she would be a goner. So many flames were around her and on her that it would be impossible to run from the burn that would suffocate someone's body. However, she didn't know if she'd rather die from the fire or the game she would play in an arena full of people from all over the country. As the carriage rode into the giant room full of people cheering and shocked by the flames attached to Mary-Anne and Morgan's body.
As they rode through the room to their section on the stage, Mary-Anne didn't feel uncomfortable anymore. If they hadn't fully caught on fire and burned yet then it wouldn't happen soon right? Mary-Anne looked up and saw a man in the crowd. He was old, had a mustache that flared out on the tips, and cold blue eyes. He looked at the stage with no emotion, just a cold stare. On the pocket of his suit blazer, he had a white rose clipped onto it. As the host talked he presented this old man with the spotlight turning to him. This was President Snow. The man who continued the Hunger Games. He fought in the war years ago when he was a kid. It seems he thinks the Hunger Games are some sort of entertainment. Despite the cold look in his eyes.

As Mary-Anne walked into her own room she noticed a window that looked out to the captiol city. The buildings were all so pretty at night, it was such a shame that this whole city wants someone dead. As she laid in bed, she felt something uncomfortable digging into her back. She sat up and picked up a remote from under her. She pressed a button and it changed the scenery on the window. It was now an ocean. This was nice but it wasn't a perfect scenery to help her sleep. She pressed another button which turned to a forest. This was perfect. Living with her mother in the forest, she always loved the rain and pinewood trees. She missed her mother, she didn't even get to say goodbye to her before she left. The last time she saw her was when her mother was sobbing for her being selected in the Hunger Games.
Mary-Anne drifted to a deep sleep that would be interupted in the morning. Did Mary-Anne and Morgan deserve being picked for the Hunger Games? No. Do all good things and people come to an end? Yes. The Capitol is a cruel city filled with people that think they're correct for letting others know that they have no freedom. No matter what you do, the Capitol will always be there to control you.
