Midnight comes, darkness descended upon the District, the once vibrant light filled district is now slowly being engulfed in darkness. The streets now stand deserted, with only a few people venturing out into the night.

With only a small number of shops and stalls remaining, the civilians appeared to be in a rush to reach their respective homes, signaling the end of the lively marketplace. They knew that there had been a lot of people going missing lately, specifically men that were in between their twenties and thirties.

It scares them. Especially when the identity of the culprit remains a mystery.

The masked Demon Slayer patrolled the District, she thoroughly inspecting the alleyways and exploring every street she could come across. However, her efforts has shown no results so far.

She sighed, this was going to be a long night.

There were no people on the street, only a few illuminated windows that cast a dim light on the gloomy surroundings. Y/N walked down the quiet street, clutching the hilt of her katana, moving at a calm and slow pace.

For years, she had been a Demon Slayer that only goes on solo missions. Whenever a time comes when she has to team up with other members, she refused. 

Although she prefers to be alone, it does not mean she enjoys it.

Y/N suddenly stopped in her track, an unsettling feeling creeped up as her senses were telling her that something was wrong in this area. The atmosphere grew stagnant, and the silent in the air was giving off an eerie vibe. Y/N scanned the area, it was confirmed the presence of a demon lurking in that particular area of the District.

Slowly, her hand grip the katana's hilt tighter, there was someone behind her. A jolt of surprise courses through her as she catches the sound of a male voice behind her.

"State your business here." There were no traces of emotion in his tranquil and soft voice.

She immediately shift her focus towards him. Underneath the fox mask, her eyes subtly grew wider, showing a hint of surprise as she realized that he was the Demon Slayer she had seen at the restaurant hours ago.

"On a mission. Why are you here?"

"On a mission as well."

"Huh? I thought I was the only one who's sent here.."

"..."

"..."

"Say something, will you?" There is no doubt that she was somewhat bothered.

Giyuu's response was a blink, suggesting a slight surprise at her behavior. It seemed as if she was a mirror image of him. Surprisingly, they both possessed a similar personality.

He then tries to break the awkward moment, "Kanzaburo must have delayed the Master's message, resulting in another Demon Slayer to be dispatched here."

Her gaze fixated on his chest, where she observed the presence of golden buttons instead of the usual white ones. Recalling from her past memory, it was only the Pillars who wears such distinctive uniforms. Considering her father's past as the former Wind Pillar, she had gained some knowledge from him.

"It must be a serious one, if a Hashira is being dispatched here. The presence of a Hashira suggests that this is a matter of great importance."

"You're a sharp one. Yes."

"But why only you? Where are the other Pillars?"

" They have already been assigned to regions other than these."

Y/N remained silent. She's guessing that he had nothing to do. But based on what he has said earlier, due to his Kasugai Crow delaying the message for his upcoming mission, she was sent here instead.

"Why did your crow delay the message?" She asked.

"He is old and has a tendency to miscommunicate or completely overlook delivering messages."

Sending a Hashira here could mean this situation is serious.  Given that they were already in the same location, it would be logical to work together, even if the two dislike in doing so.
