"Shit, we need to bounce. Run!" said the red haired boy suddenly. One of my eyes cracked open slightly, seeing if I was still alive. To my confusion, there was a bullet hole in the ground to my left and no blood anywhere. Was I alive? How could that possibly be?

"Come on princess, no time for talking," said my captor as he picked me up bridal style and ran with me. The two boys hastily climbed down a ladder on the side of the building. The man I assumed to be Kane looking down at them when they reached the bottom and nodded. In a matter of seconds, I was being thrown off of a third story building.

A terrified scream ripped through my throat as I fell to what I thought was my death. My arms flailed around and on impact, hit someone in the face. Two strong arms caught me like I was a cheerleader doing a flip in the air, and a groan came from whoever I hit. I was too busy panting and being in shock to notice.

"We caught you, no need to be throwing punches!" said the blond boy who must have been the one I hit.

"Shut up, I just got thrown off of a three story building!" I screamed at him as he let go of me. The red head grunted at the sudden weight he had to carry.

"Be quiet or we're going to get caught!" hushed the redhead. He started running while carrying me, and I just crossed my arms and glared at him.

"Good, you tried to kill me, I hope you get caught! Police! Help me! I've been-" I was shut up quickly with a hand to my mouth. Kane appeared in front of me with an angry expression. He promptly ripped his pocket square from his jacket and stuffed it into my mouth.

"No noise or you will be dead, that's a promise," Kane said in a deep raspy voice. He cocked his gun and put it back to his side. That was not an empty threat and I knew it.

The boy carrying me continued on running in the dark alleyway as I kept quiet and still. We looped through corners and narrow parts, and eventually came out to an opening. The door to a large black SUV opened and I was thrown inside. As soon as I was placed inside the vehicle, I hauled the piece of fabric straight out of my mouth and began coughing. The car started with a jolt and I was almost thrown off of my seat. I noticed the seats were configured oddly, all in a circle so you could see everyone else in the car.

"For a second there, I was under the impression she wasn't going to be a pain in the ass, but I was clearly wrong," came the angry looking blond boy.

"If you were being kidnapped, I don't think you would be cooperative either," I growled at the boy. What did these guys expect, me to just run willingly away with them?

"Trick question, I wouldn't get kidnapped because I'm not a dumbass! Let me just follow the dark brooding boy up the stairs and expect something good to come out of it," mocked blondie, who was severely getting on my nerves.

"Well that's one introduction! Nice to meet you Athena, I know everything about you down to the perfume you wear. All three of us have been studying you for months and planning how to get into that security packed event, but it seems like things didn't worked out as they should have. I'm Ash, Kane is the one who lured you, and Ethan is the one who is always angry. Nice to make your acquaintance," Ash said with an outstretched hand and a smile. I hesitantly shook his hand and made careful eye contact with him. He knew what perfume I used? Creepy much.

"Now that the intro is over, can we talk about what the hell happened out there? We planned this for months, why isn't she dead on the roof?" Ethan yelled with an annoyed expression. He was looking directly at Kane, clearly blaming him for not pulling the trigger.

"I don't know, she would be better off alive. The boss could get more money from Calvin this way and destroy him some other way. The agony of not knowing if your kid is dead or alive is torturous. There will be way more damage done this way," Kane explained as he tried to justify the reason I was still alive.

"So what you mean is, you got chocked up at her little speech about taking the brunt for her dear daddy and didn't pull the trigger? Damn it I knew I should have done it, the boss is going to be livid with us," Ethan said as he sat back and put his hands over his face.

"Can we not talk about me dying with me in the car? That would be very much so appreciated," I said with annoyance. This conversation couldn't wait until later?

"So needy, could you try to not be a princess for like ten seconds?" roared out Ethan as he bent forward and glared at me.

"If I had a hit list, you would make the very top of it I assure you," I said with a snarl. What was this kids problem? We had just met and he was already being a jerk.

"Oh sweet heart, don't worry, you have been the top of mine for several months now," he said with a wink. I pulled back a little bit and made a disguised expression.

"Well, you both seem to be getting along nicely," piped in Kane. Simultaneously, Ethan and I both flashed him our middle finger. Ash burst out laughing at us and held his stomach.

"Their like twins, cynical one's at that but none the less twins," said Ash in between laughing. I crossed my arms across my chest and turned my head away.

"Now here comes the real question, what do we do with her?" Kane asked as it became eerily quiet. I stared at all of them, noticing that they clearly hadn't thought of that part. They were much dumber than I thought.

"I thought you guys said you planned this for months, did you not come up with a plan b?" I said with genuine confusion. These guys were supposed to be top notch assassins.

"Well you see, we hadn't thought that part out, everything was expected to go as planned" Ash said while rubbing the back of his head. He had an embarrassed smile that showed he wasn't kidding.

"Can't you just kill me now and throw my dead body out in the streets or something? Come on people think!" I barked out as all three boys gave me a confused look.

"Stop being so suicidal will you? We can't do that because it's already too late. We were going to have your parents come discover your dead body. You have already been kidnapped, we need to keep with this new plan. I'm sure it will form with time," Ethan said in a bored tone.

It's not like I was actually suicidal. The thought of death was obviously scary, but I was at the point where I didn't really care if I lived or died. My existence was fake and so was everyone around me. Living this ridiculous life of luxury was exhaustingly boring. It was the same thing after another. Party, do some socialite event, get drunk and wake up on yacht with some of the worst people you will ever have the pleasure of meeting.

"So now here comes to golden question, what do we do with her?" said Kane as he looked expectantly at the other boys.

"Well, she obviously needs to come back to the apartment with us. If we take our eyes off of her, she may end up bolting. I say each night we switch off on who watches her," Ash reasoned.

"She isn't staying at my place that's for sure," Ethan said in a snarky tone.

"You are so grumpy, and too bad that means you are the first to watch her. I'm exhausted and clearly Kane has a soft spot for her, so you it is," said Ash as Ethan glared back at him.

"Fine, whatever. Don't be difficult," Ethan barked at me. This guy was such a pain, what was his problem? I stuck my tongue out at him and boiled with anger. He looked like he was going to smack me at any minute but I didn't care.

The car ride came to a halt as we finally reached our destination. I peeked out the window to see a large luxury apartment complex that could easily be mistaken as a hotel. There was a bright sign that said Silver and Gold and a man holding the door open. It was later at night, so not many people were walking around.

"Come on princess, we don't have all day," said Ethan, and the next thing I knew, I was being shoved out of the car.
