When Taylor wasn't answering the door as you knocked and rang the doorbell, you used the spare key she had given you to let yourself inside in search of her.
It was late into the night, around three in the morning when you showed up. You normally don't stop by so late but this visit was necessary after the fact that you had left your home just minutes before, basically running away after an altercation between you and your mother took place. You and your mother had never really been close, even though you still live under the same roof, you both go your separate ways in different ways. You tried to avoid run ins like this as much as you could, but tonight was the last straw, you wanted out of that house and went to Taylor, where you feel the safest.
Ever since you started dating, you both become inseparable and spend any time you had with each other. One of the important promises you've made to each other was there would be no secrets kept from either of you, and sadly, you were keeping one. While you know pretty much everything about Taylor, you were honest about everything except for one, and that was you were suffering from depression. You had fallen into it after people tried to keep you and Taylor apart, being told you could do better and that she was just using you or you were using her. None of that was true, you knew Taylor loved you to pieces and would do anything in the world for you.
As you walk in her home, you couldn't find her anywhere at first. That is until you started hearing music coming from her music room, you just followed the sound of music and it led you on the other side of the door that was keeping you and Taylor apart. When you peeked through the window of the french doors, Taylor looked busy and seemed to not be bothered, so you headed for the bathroom to wait her out.
Sitting on the closed toilet, your mind wondered off to the blade you had stuffed into your pocket. The thought of hurting yourself isn't new, it occurs often but you never had followed through with it. After deciding you would make that happen right then, you were just about to reach for it when Taylor's cat, Olivia, jumped on your lap out of nowhere, happy to see you. You couldn't help but let your lips break into a small smile as you accept the affection.
"At least you care for me, isn't that right Olivia?" you say.
Just as you begin to sniffle, Olivia's attention suddenly directed towards the open door as she meowed.
In the doorway, stood Taylor.
She had her arms folded across her chest as you try picking up Olivia back on your lap, in order to avoid Taylor's concerned gaze. You had no idea that the small blade in your pocket was poking out and Taylor's first instinct was to make sure that you were okay before asking the hard questions. When you try to confirm you were in fact, okay, you knew she didn't believe you and kept gently pushing to know what was going on you weren't telling her. The first thing she asks is to let her see the blade in your pocket, she noticed you were trying to pull it out carefully to hide it behind your back like a child would with a cookie.
The lump you had in your throat kept you from speaking clearly, you continue to stutter until she finally sighs and starts comforting you, starting with a hug. Her hugs were hypnotizing, this time it was so that you didn't realize she was able to gently pull the small blade away from your hand. You both broke apart after she gets a hold of it, she first studies it and is relieved when she couldn't see anything on it. Taylor than realizes she had just saved you from your own hand and wanted to know everything, or at least, as much as you were willing to tell her.
As hard as it was, you told Taylor about the argument with your mother earlier that night and explain how you and your mother were never really close.
When Taylor learns of your past, her thoughts immediately turns to turning your mother into the police, have her arrested. At first, you disagreed, and you both go back and forth on what either of you thought should happen which was a little irritating. Taylor gives into making a deal with you, a deal that you do agree with and accept.
"Well, I can't force you to think the same way I do about what should happen, (Y/n). But could you at least give it some thought before making up your mind for good?"
"Yes, I can do that."
"It's a deal."
"Deal."
Taylor becomes the one person you have had peaceful agreements with, and this was another one of those moments.
She actually cares.
