It Was Always You

Prologue

Month of November, 2:30 am
CSM international Airport, Mumbai

A young woman in her mid 20s was sitting in the waiting area, tears continuously rolling down her eyes, she sat far away from the other people, in a secluded spot, facing the huge glass window which showed the view of the incoming and outgoing flights  on the runway

She wipes her tears and takes a deep breath, but they continued to fall

Don't cry for that worthless man, Naina

Focus on the future, please focus on the future ! She mutters to herself

But what did I do to deserve all this!

Why why would he do that to me !

All I wanted was his happiness,for that I let go of mine and this is how he repays? By lying!

She covers her mouth to prevent a sob from escaping but tears weren't stopping!

It's my fault, its all my fault! I shouldn't have put him before me,

I shouldn't have be so lovesick to see that I was being used as a pawn to achieve what he couldn't do by himself

She remembers the fateful day when she called off her wedding with Arjun so he can go ahead and be with his love, Priya. He didn't have the courage to tell his family about her and agreed to marry Naina

Naina couldn't see him suffer so she did the unthinkable and probably the most stupid act of her life, she took the blame on herself about not being ready to marry, and set him free from the judgement of others.

No one hated him, when the wedding was called off, they pitied him in fact!

Naina was blamed by everyone, their relatives, Friends and even her own mom and brother, she was labelled as proud, selfish, pretentious and self conceited girl.

Some of them even called her out for being stupid enough to let go of a man as  perfect as Arjun, which plain a girl like her could never even get in next 7 births!

Naina suffered all those remarks and cold behaviour from her family which was put to an end by her father when he decided to send her to Mumbai, away from everyone so Naina can cope up with the pain she was going through until the day Arjun decided to come back and ruin her peace once again....

I always asked Arjun to tell you about us you know, when your wedding preparations were going on, he never listened to me!

But then my Arjun is very smart, I still don't know why he waited till the end to tell you that, maybe he knew, you will do this for him! Gosh I envy your friendship

But I must say that was so Brave of you to call off  your wedding Naina, we owe you, I wish I had friends like you!

But I am sure you would've done this before as well, why didn't you tell her baby?

Her voice rang in her ears and she could feel each and every cell in her body flare up with rage, she closed her eyes to calm down her nerves.

After a while she felt tightness in her chest and difficulty in breathing, the pain in the chest had just began, when she realised this could be one of her asthama attacks and before she starts wheezing, she quickly took out her asthama puff and inhaled the medication

She looked around, there were a very few people in the waiting area, most of them were asleep, while some of them busy in their books, phones etc
No one noticed her struggle
