It has been a busy year for all of the Enhypen members. All of them were experiencing a lot of stress and of course, they deserved a break. Which is why, the company decided to give them 2 weeks off, to meet their families, and heal themselves to prepare for the upcoming year.
This was exciting for almost all the members, except for their precious maknae, Niki <dropping the - bcs I'm lazy>. Well, since the debut he didn't want to be a burden so he decided to keep his private matters to himself. Therefore the members had no idea about the rough past of the maknae. About his father's abusiveness and mother's ignorance. and he had done a good job of hiding it. Of course, the members were curious about the distant relationship (or the non-existing relationship) between Niki and his parents.
"Niki, did you read the group chat? We are gonna have 2 weeks of holiday... gosh I am so excited....!!!"
"yeah Sunoo hyung, I can't wait to see my family. I've been homesick for years"
"why does it sound like you don't mean it? "
Oops.... Niki froze on the spot.
"Geez, chill out. I was just messing with you... Lool you looked like you were gonna collapse"
Niki let out a small grin.
"so when are you going to leave Korea?"
"not yet decided," Niki said dodging the eye contact.
"aigoo Niki, the vacation is going to start tomorrow" Sunoo replied with a frown.
"yeah hyung, I am going to meet the manager and just set up a date tomorrow."
"ok, then I have to go and pack my bags," Sunoo said excitedly, as always.
"Ok hyung. I'll come to the dorm later."
Sunoo smiled at the maknae and left.
Niki POV :
How nice this family is... I really am going to miss them. They have been taking care of me and have loved me more than my parents did in the past 3 years. I don't want to tell them that I am going to stay here. they are not going to leave me all alone here. I can't be selfish and ruin their vacation just because my life has been all fucked up.
I am not going to tell them. I am going to pretend that I am in Japan while they're gone. I am going to text them and pretend like nothing has happened. I am going to....
"YAH NIKII...!!"
3rd person POV :
Niki lifted his head. It was Jay.
"Oh, hyung.?"
"Niki, what's the matter? You are spacing out a lot these days? Everything okay?" Jungwon asked.
"yeah hyung. Just thought about how amazing Japan is going to be.." Replied Niki. Pretending was not a new thing for him.
"Someone seems excited... " Jake continued. "We know that it has been hard for you. You must be homesick"
"So when are you leaving?" Why is everyone curious? Niki questioned in his head.
"not decided yet. I am going to talk with the manager tomorrow." Niki replied.
"Well I am not going to leave you here alone, so tell me your schedule" Jungwon replied, switching on Leader mode.
Shit. Niki's plan failed before he even began. Niki tried not to freak out or look awkward.
"That won't be necessary hyung. I am not a kid anymore"
"Even so, you're still our responsibility."
