Zari's POV

I don't even have time for my love life, to see my family, I don't even have time for nothing. I'm working every single day, I'm depressed. I shouldn't even be feeling that way—

That's how Zari feels right now. Except the love life part of course, she's been dating her boyfriend, Kyan, since high school. But he's been touring recently, so they've been apart for a bit. So now, she's in the studio with Isis trying to take her mind off of missing him so much by making some music that she probably won't release anytime soon.

"You need to stop moping around like that and spit some bars" Isis says, shaking her head as she sat on the couch of the studio. Zari rolls my eyes.

"Girl, you don't got a man so you don't know what it's like" Zari says, sitting on the chair by the booth. Isis chuckles, "You right, you right, but you do need to chill out"

Zari sighs, but she knows she does have to just thinking so much about him. Besides, they some time apart from your partner is good. Isis shakes her head, getting up from the couch. "C'mon Zari, let's make a lil song together. You make the beat and then I'll freestyle something" she says as she walks into the booth. Zari groans dramatically, "As a artist you needa start learning how to lay ya own beats down girl"

Zari starts clicking away on the computer as she just plays around with different sounds. Isis remains in booth listening through the headphones, before she realises what she's hearing. "Girl, are you sampling the nigga's song?" Isis asks, almost amused by Zari. Zari chuckles, "Listen, I'm too lazy to make a whole new song from scratch, alright?". "Whatever girl, just finish up so I can start spittin' sum" Isis says impatiently.

While Zari starts playing the demo, she hears her phone start ringing from the other side of the room. She gets up to go answer it, and her face immediately lights up when she sees the contact name "Ky 🩷" on the screen. Of course her boo wants to FaceTime, Kyan never does an audio call when he calls. Zari was used to it by now, but she used to hate it back in high school since she used to be anti-social and didn't like calling.

Zari accepts the FaceTime call and smiles when she sees Kyan's face on her phone screen. He looked like he'd just gotten back to the hotel after one of his shows. "Hey mamas" Kyan says with a small grin. He is just so damn handsome. "Hey, i was just thinking about you" Zari says with a giddy grin on her face. "I bet you were, cuz I know I miss you to death" Kyan says dramatically.

"Where you at though?" Kyan asks as he sits down on his hotel bed. "I'm at the studio with Isis, we were just foolin' tryna make something" Zari says casually. "I would ask how your day's been, but chile, i already know" she says, shaking her head. He knows she's referring to the tons of female fans he has, and lets out a small laugh. "C'mon bae, don't be like that" Kyan says. "I'm just sayin', they be doin' too much" Zari says, though she doesn't actually mind that much, she's just acknowledging it is all.

"Alright, well, I was just callin' to check on you. I just have a few more days, then I'm all yours" Kyan says, teasing towards the end. "Can't wait 'til then. But yeah, I miss you too bae, I feel myself being unable to function without you" Zari says dramatically. Kyan playfully rolls his eyes "Chill out now you know it ain't that deep"

"I'm bouta to go take a nap now, I'm finished after tonight" Kyan says, and she nods her head. "Aight baby, get some rest then. I love you" she says. "Luh you too, ma" He says, blowing a kiss at the camera before hanging up.

"Zari," Isis says, still standing in the booth with a hand on her hip shaking her head. Zari turns around, seeing Isis in the booth, shrugging her shoulders, "What?". "Girl, you left me hangin' in the mf booth for an hour to talk to your boo" Isis says. Zari chuckles, "My bad, my bad. C'mon, let's do this song".
